The South West Area members have a table at the Great Western Autojumble, held at the Royal Bath & West Autojumble to promote our vehicles, and hopefully attract some new members. We are looking for volunteers to help man the table over the two days. If you are available that weekend, then please email or give Trevor a phonecall.
The Pride of Longbridge Rally is annual event to mark the closure of MG Rover. This year’s event uses a slightly different format than in previous years. We have been informed that there will be no large convoy to the event. However, if participants wish to meet friends and travel to Cofton park together the Avoncroft Museum (B60 4JR) and coffee shop will be open from 9.00AM to serve as a brief gathering point and refreshment stop before participants travel on to Cofton Park by a very attractive route. Austin Federation marshals will be on hand with a route map from Avoncroft Museum to Cofton Park until 10.30AM. Avoncroft Museum cannot provide space for people to wait for a long period of time for others to join them. Those of you who do not wish to join the parade may go to Cofton Park direct. If you are planning on coming along then can you please let Nigel Haigh know, so we know who to look out for on the day.
The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs 2009 "Drive It Day" takes place on Sunday 25th April. The Drive It Day On is part of the campaign against legislation to remove older vehicles on the road. On this day members are encouraged to drive their classic instead of their modern vehicle.
Organised by the South West Area Members, the club has a stand at the prestigious Bristol Classic Car Show If you would like to display your vehicle at this event then please contact Trevor Walbridge. We have been allocated space for three cars. Similiarly if you would like to help out on the stand over the three days and get to know the South West Area then give Trevor a bell.
This is the second PPC in the Park, organised by Practical Performance Car. The weekend includes various trade stalls & displays, include track action all day.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Lichfield this a two day event with over 800 cars expected to the show.
MG Saloon Day is the main national event of the MG 'M' Group for owners of MG Metros, Maestros and Montegos to get together and display their cars. However do not be dismayed, as in more recent years the show has grown to include more modern MGs and Rovers. There will be a Rover 200 and 400 Owners club stand at this event, with a club display area set aside for your vehicle.
Organised by the South West Area Group - If you wish to go to this event then please let Trevor Walbridge know by the end of May, so a club stand can be booked.
This will be the 17th Annual BMC/BL Rally and Spares Day. The show includes a autojumble. There will be pre-event camping and BBQ onsite the night before. If you are planning on showing your vehicle or camping then can you please let Nigel Haigh know so we have an idea of numbers.
Organisation in progress, more details coming soon.
Venue and Date to be confirmed. All ideas welcome.
