Re: Social Isolation jobs list on the R3 Vi

thats looking mint john. If you have the space why not keep the parts as if you are thinking of using the interior in it again you could also go back to some of external mods as it was all tastefully done and certainly not Barry boy. If we ever get back to regular shows different looks for it would...

Re: 1987 Rover 216S Scrappage Scheme Victim/Rescue?

The basic plan is that we're going to take the car on and look for the best long-term owner. As previously with cars we've restored, we won't profit from this. Profits will go to Muscular Dystrophy in this case. If all goes well we're looking to collect the car next week and bring it to the Milton K...

Re: 1987 Rover 216S Scrappage Scheme Victim/Rescue?

Today has been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least :*laughs* I had a call with Rob Wood this morning and by the late afternoon they were happy to release this:- BEECHWOOD MAZDA MAKES CLASSIC SAVE! Beechwood Mazda in Derby has rescued a classic Rover 216 from being lost when it was offered under th...

Re: Cabby hood qtr deck retaining piece

XPart have started offering stainless variants of certain coolant pipes. Perhaps they could be steered towards a similar solution for these Cabby parts? Funny you should mention that... This part is high up on the list of parts we've been discussing with XPart for some time. Unfortunately it's not ...

Re: 1987 Rover 216S Scrappage Scheme Victim/Rescue?

I saw this on Twitter today, surely someone can call the dealer and inquire on its whereabouts? I've spoken to them. We have a very good conversation and we're 'exploring opportunities' :D Being early days please give me a bit of time to pursue this. Interesting history ... https://live.staticflick...

Re: 1997 200 Vi that will be de-MG'd soon

Lovely car and so rare I've never seen those alcantara seats in a ZR before, were they late options in the monogram program? I don't know tbh! I thought they were all like this... We need somebody with some MG ZR brochures :wink3 I am thinking of putting them back in at somepoint - not just to prot...

Re: 420GSI tourer mini restoration

Good job you fitted a bonnet with a bulge as the 2.0 M/T series are the only ones that actually need it for clearance to the cam cover.

Without it, it might make a bulge on its own if you have an 'extreme event' :*laughs*

Re: Feelings about the NEC

The current position for the CMS event is that we have been offered and accepted a stand but we, like everybody, is far from certain that it will be safe to actually hold this event so we are awaiting developments. The stand would be 3 or 4 cars with smaller-than-usual manning. Social distancing, ma...

Re: Air in diesel filter

That's not a small job to contemplate!

There'll be some welding in the engine bay as the engine-end mount is quite different. If you've got a donor then you'll have most bits available so it's possible :D
