Re: Member needs help with R8 216 after rodents attack loom

We, particularly you, tried to help resolve this difficult problem - we'll have to add 'rats' to our list of "Things that will kill our cars".

Good to hear there is still another R8 in the family :D

That's a pity but it was never a straightforward repair...

I have one of the electrics one's but will need to get it to tell you which.

Bar potential copyright issues, is the plan for a digital copy to be made?
More of a technical reference as needed.

Digital versions seem to be available on ebay already, not that I've tried one yet...

Re: Original workshop manuals

The club is being offered good copies of 'Repair Manual AKM6987 (2nd edition) vols 1&2' but before going any further I just wanted to see if anybody already has a copy of these. And what else we hold collectively? I think we ought to try to get a full set of manuals as a reference for club members. ...

How many mentions in August 2018 Practical Classics ?

I'm 4 and it only arrived in the post today!

Mentions of 'our' cars includes a big photo of two club members, Trevor Wallbridge and Paul Drake, with their Coupes.

Great quote from Diane :D

Big 'Coupe to Le Mans Classic' article in CCW this week too

Re: Rover 216 dohc engine

This may not be what you're after but it's the same part as a SOHC relay, and was fitted to many other Hondas of the era.

You might be able to find it by searching for 'Honda fuel pump relay' on ebay or elsewhere

Secondhand hoods do come up for sale and the rear section is available as a separate part, if you can find one.

Re: 'The BMC & Leyland Show' at the British Motor Museum 1st July 2018

Thank you to everybody who came to the show to make it such an enjoyable day.

It was great to see so many of our cars together again and meet all the owners.

We we're given much room but we made the best of it!

Roll on more summer shows :clapping

Re: 'The BMC & Leyland Show' at the British Motor Museum 1st July 2018

I’m aiming to arrive between 9.00 and 9.30am. Usually we all park together so hopefully the same this year :) I'll be there about the same time. The marshalling is usually good enough but having a 20ft high flag to aim for usually helps too :D And it's not the 'quality' of the car people come in (b...

Re: Heated rear window and rear wiper not working

It's great when an old thread resurfaces :D

It doesn't help that the wires get so bent on every closure but every car with a boot/tailgate has a similar problem...

Out with the grease spray next time then !
