Re: Driver's door lock mechanism freezing

Having had mine apart recently on the passenger's side I'd agree tha lubing the machanism etc will almost certainly have sorted it, unless as somebody has mentioned it's icing within the lock, but (hereabouts anyway) it's been cold buy dry so I can't really see that being the problem unless that loc...

Re: Tourer End Of Production

According to How Many Left there are presently 203 Tourers of all types inc petrol and diesel on the road in the UK (I didn't add up the SORNs).

However there could be more which were registered as (for example) "416SLi" - or even '400' - which is what it says on the back of the car.

Re: Tourer End Of Production

Interestingly mine has the 'square' R8 interior/ dashboard and others of a very similar age I have seen photos of have the newer HHR rounded dashboard. So I suspect mine was sitting around a dealer for a while. It was registered late 1996 but the date stamped on many of its components I have seen is...

Re: doorCDL operates when driving away

Had this on our late ZTT - had it disabled via T4 at the first opportunity - it was very annoying. The default setting was to have it auto-locking ON.

Hi folks, well done to everyone involved with the club stand - it was nice to meet with a few of you over the weekend and discuss the car and put some names to faces. Thanks again , Rich

Re: R8 400 and HHR 45 central locking actuators - same?

Not wishing to hijack but i'm looking for an actuator for my rear drivers on a 75 tourer if anyone knows the part numbers. :angel Speak to this chap fella, he's called Mark and is breaking a late Tourer which I have had quite a bit off. OSR door was still present as of Last Friday. https://www.ebay...

Re: R8 400 and HHR 45 central locking actuators - same?

Well folks, despite the diagrams in Rimmers, it gives me the greatest pleasure to announce that the actuators ARE the same - well - at least mine were. There are various versions but the one for remote central locking on my Tourer, and the old 45 one I had, were both '2 wire' versions (some seem to ...

R8 400 and HHR 45 central locking actuators - same? RESOLVED.

Hi folks, I have a dead central locking actuator/ latch on the NSF of my 400 Tourer, and a spare known working one from a 45. Externally on the door jamb, these look to be the same - same bolt pattern etc. Does anybody know if these are interchangeable before I start the job please? Don't want to st...

Sunroof getting slow (R8 Tourer)

Hi folks, I have recently noticed that the sunroof in the R8 tourer is getting very lethargic so wanted to clean and lube bits as appropriate before it grinds to a halt altogether... Question is, where do I need to lube to best effect please? I assume there are long lead-screws running down each sid...

Re: gas support struts 400 tourer

mine say 0330N, lift-o-mat BHE380260 So I assume 330 Newtons - sounds about right. I had mine re-gassed at SGS in Derby. Two years on and still perfect condition, lid fairly springs up! :-) Pricey though... But convenient for me at least - I think they do mail order for those further afield... https...
