Re: Rover Revivals Revival

I would discuss that with your insurer first!

I fitted an [ill fitting] stainless steel exhaust to a 2.0 L Carrado, it put the premium up to more than a VR6! :cursing

Re: BL Day at Peterborough is no more

Of late the weather could be very wet in May or June! It should be obvious given some thought, that if it's been raining cats & dogs all the previous week that Crofton Park will be water logged surely? I think it's more important to celebrate the cars and the clubs that help to keep them on the road...

I've not moved Paul; I think I've taken root for the time being. Too many cars to move! :D

Re: 2019 Restoration Show Centrepiece Charity Cabriolet

Post thanks Paul; I take it that the car park passes change daily so are valid to get out once only?

Re: 2019 Restoration Show Centrepiece Charity Cabriolet

I could make Friday the 22nd but I would need a carpark pass, as the train is prohibitively expensive that day.

Re: Cambelt snapped

You could always try turning the engine over via the crank pully bolt through 720 degrees and test whether anything is butting up against a piston crown?

That's the lowest cost option assuming you own a basic tool kit?

Re: Coupe windscreen crack

I'm wondering if all the old cement was cleaned out before the new screen was fitted? but that's just a guess.

New windscreens are still available if you hunt around for one.

Re: Cambelt snapped

Were you driving when it let go? did it just stop or was there a loud bang and the sound of poppet valve hitting piston crown? :scared

I have the Honda D16 engine workshop manual some where, I will try to dig out later tonight.

Re: The Dreaded Honda ALB

Thanks Paul, I've got a bit of a black dog on over this, as I don't want to have to throw in the towel and scrap it. Regarding the alternator issue; I have 2 Honda's that have been off the road for 4 years plus and they both start & run with no trouble. Perhaps [guessing here] some have been rebuilt...

Re: The Dreaded Honda ALB

Yes I suspect it's a lack of charge going into the battery means the electric ALB circuit pump isn't charging the accumulator, but I'd like to be sure [ish] before commencing [costly] subframe repairs.
