Re: Valuation help requested for legal purposes

I'm not sure there is going to be much of a market for old diesels soon, Bristol is talking about banning all diesels from the city centre completely, with a charge to enter a larger surrounding zone. I would get a quote from a licensed vehicle dismantler to take it away; you need to sign off on a c...

Re: D16 Engine Number Variants

Just to add to that fine reply from Jon; the non cat DOHC D16 engine had different cam shaft profiles and different cam timing I believe. That is according to my Honda Engine Manual, shouldn't make any difference to the head gasket fit though.

Re: Dailying an R8 or 45

My 1.4 K Series goes like a rocket, in fact to much power compared to the mediocre brakes :sad I think that all the 2/416's came with a bonnet acoustic blanket whereas the lower spec 1.4's didn't, that seems to make a lot of difference to cabin noise levels. Still possible to mix and match before al...

Re: Clutch Slipping

This isn't a five minute job! Take the battery and the tray out also remove the induction trunking first. This is an opportune moment to change the antifreeze and thermostat at the same time. There is a locking feature on the adjuster so suss it out before turning the adjuster nut; you want more of ...

Re: Dailying an R8 or 45

There can be issues letting a garage service these cars, especially regarding spares parts & oil. Don't use modern thin engine oils for example as oil leaks are identified in the MOT. Stick with a good quality 10-40. Honda dealer serviced my D16 auto before I bought it with a 5 or 10-30 engine oil a...

Re: Automatic Oil Pipe connection to radiator

I have a SOHC Auto, I will nip out and look while it's not raining. Edit: As you look at the engine and both oil feed banjo unions on top of the box, underneath the distributor. The l/h/pipe nearest to the drivers side & closer to the slam panel; as you know they turn into hose that are strapped tog...
