Looks like you all had a good AGM, the weather put me off I have to admit. This is the first one I've missed since I joined!

Re: Flame Red 3 Door 216GTi Auction

Yes the SOHC is much nicer to cruise on the Mway and as I have half a plan to fit a DOHC and mate it to a wide ratio box in my Red GTi [health/energy permitting] I'm after a butchers at a DOHC torque/power curve: did Rover ever publish one? An alternative plan is to turn her into a hillclimb car, in...

Re: Flame Red 3 Door 216GTi Auction

Interesting to note that approx max torque is achieved at 3000RPM!

Do you have a chart for a T.C?

Re: Flame Red 3 Door 216GTi Auction

The suspension will be stiffer and it's got bigger anti roll bars.

A lot will depend on how it's been driven and looked after; it looks very clean under the bonnet.

There are 30 taxed on the road at the moment.

[I'm not sellling it by the way]

Re: Rover 216 Radiator (1992) advice

On the auto a transmission oil cooler was an option, there may well be some around without one. I don't expect it's an issue unless towing. That's the only difference as far as I'm aware. The oil cooler is integral with the rad where fitted.

Re: Another red 216 automatic

Yes it looks like some mot welding work has taken place around one rear arch. Those seats are a find; those flint prism seats are possibly the best you can get, if you don't fancy the half leather lightning jobs?

Re: Coolant drain plug on block

As a rule of thumb never try to remove a water jacket bung, unless it leaks: especially not with a alloy block. Another little tip, if you're changing coolant on a K Series like for like, don't drain the heater matrix, it makes bleeding the system far simpler [ if you change the coolant regularly it...

Re: 1990 416GSi & 1991 416GTi

The GSi is going to be put up for sale, to generate funds to improve my GTi. GTi needs a head gasket, cambelt, work on the gearbox, and a better fitting exhuast. GSi is spot on and rot free but surplus to requirements. Who was it that was looking for an auto R8? I tried to reply to the PM thread bu...

That's the only R8 I've ever seen with colour coded mudflaps! not keen on the MG dials or wheel trims, on one side only? Optimistic regarding the price imo.

Re: FS eBay: 416GTi auto, 13k miles

Yes I'm getting confused, the four way leccy windows & leather were an option on early GSi's and along with power steering, ALB,alloy wheels & metalic paint pushed the retail price for my latest acquisition upto £18450 in Jan' 92! :o That was a vast amount of cash for a car in the Escort/Astra marke...

Ahem not all appear on here, especially [at a guess] if some one here is bidding on it!

The two that I've invested in recently; neither was hilighted here and I certainly wasn't about to create anymore competition! :laughing2
