Re: New Rover owner - insurance advice

Footman James will insure it on a classic car policy, I have group insurance for 4 cars SD&P £180 this includes RAC breakdown cover. An alternative is PETER S TAYLOR & Co old fashioned personal service, no call centres. Only insure as a second car with limited mileage. You need to a be a club member...

:sad
Nope it had a much better MOT history than that one only failed previously on minor things; windscreen wipers, sticky brakes, C.V Gaitors etc.

It's vanished :blink

Re: Wanted Distributor for Rover 416si 1991 Honda engine

Susan I had the engine check light come on, it was one of the H.T leads not fully home in the Distributor Cap! *********DON'T touch any part of the high tension side of the ignition system with the engine running******* I just went around checking for anything loose [as you would on a conventional i...

It's MOT had run out and a trader was selling it for 350! where has it gone? did anybody else see it? wasn't on Ebay and I can't find it any longer. Has anybody here bought it? It had a good MOT history, it hadn't fail...

Re: Its going for scrap

That's right! in fact it haas no MOT history at all acording to the DVLA site; perhaps it was first registered in N.I?; no can't be because date of first registration is March 1996, but no history must have been taken across there at some point?

The SRS steering wheel is a factory fit then.

Re: Its going for scrap

It's been retro fitted with a SRS steering wheel, that's worth saving, they're expensive! :scared Why fit all that rubbish to it and not bother about the hood? :headbanging There was some one posting on here a couple of years ago tallking about fitting aset of white dials, wonder if this is the same...

Re: Wheel refurbishment

I've had this problem and had it cured by removing the tyre, cleaning the inner rim with a rotary wire brush. Then treated with what ever tyre fitters put on the rim before refitting the tyre. That cured the problem, but it depends on the state of the rim. Others have stated that a similar process d...

Re: Small headed flange bolts sourcing

The website has resurected this thread all by itself! When I did my K16 1.4 RAD overhaul and stripped the battery tray etc out of the way to save so much head scratching; I invested in a set of 1/4 inch sq drive, wall drive kit. It came in very handy so when Rimmers supply bolts witha differing head...

Re: Rover 600 Seats into R8?

I've been distracted faffing around with wheels: back to the seat issue it's the rear inner bracket that's wrong a R8 fits at right angles against the centre tunnel, these don't but I think the bracket unbolts from the runner.

Re: FS: 'Turbo' alloys

Right these are back with the seller who I'm sure still wants to sell them, they're in reasonable condition for the price, two are very good as is and two could need a refurb depending on how fussy you are.
