The cars your dad was likely to be driving in 1995...

Another MSN slideshow special: https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/enthusiasts/revealed-the-cars-driven-by-your-dad-in-1995 The "Rover 200" makes no. 6 with 630,000 on the road in 1995. Beaten (apparently) by the Astra, Sierra, Cavalier, Fiesta and yes, you guessed it, the Escort with 1.9 million. When I...

Re: Heated rear window and rear wiper not working

My Rover 25 has had this and similar problems three times. The first was about 2010 when the car was about 7 years old and I had had it for about 2 years. I was short of cash at the time, so unpicked the wires going through the offside grommet, found the broken ones and inserted short links into th...

Re: Wanted Distributor for Rover 416si 1991 Honda engine

The "red engine check light" on my much loved Rover 416si is coming on. My local garage tells me their equipment indicates we need another Distributor which we are unable to source. We are being told it is "repair only". We have had the Distributor change on two previous occasions and in each case ...

Re: (New) Honda D 1.6 Engine w/auto box £295

They are indeed D16B2 units, so they're for the HHR automatic 1.6 cars from 1997 to 2000, which were exclusively Honda. Not sure if the box is the same as the earlier engines and would serve as a replacement for a 216 auto box. I'll have to check... Pity. But then again, some enterprising person cou...

Re: rover 216 honda engine stalling

If the o2 sensor on a 216 was duff, surely it'd put the check engine light on? Happened to me on my old SLi after it HGFd (yes I know). Mine was "downgraded" by a Rover dealer during a major service. It went in with zero faults - I just wanted a service stamp. It was obviously a marginal part becau...

Re: Accidental rover ownership

Greetings from South Wales. So an elderly neighbour sadly passed away and her family asked me to help sell her family owned from new, 34,900 miles on the clock 1995 216 Sli auto in night fire red. I offered to clean it up and advertise it but took a shine to it and ended up having it. Has some sill...

Re: 214SEi 1995

Hi Rover 220 GTi spoiler? Does anyone know if the top part is the same as the one fitted to the 214 SEi 1995.Any help much Appreciated George If your 214SEi has a wing on the back, then a 220 spoiler will probably be the same. Someone has modified the car to have one - they never came with one. The...

Re: Just bought a 45 V6 Connie...

They are genuine Rover roof bars (made by Thule) sold as accessories at Rover dealers but we're expensive at the time so are quite rare. Some dealers had them fitted on showroom cars for display. No, they were made by Automaxi, a French company. The locks use a Ronis key. Automaxi belong to the Mon...

And genuine Rover roof bars. Look after them!
I didn't know those bars were used throughout the later car ranges as well. I know it's all about the adapter kits but I thought it was pretty much 200/400 (to 95) and 800, and that's all.

Re: FS: Honda Concerto EX 1.6 auto - 68K mi, £320 start and no interest!

I suppose that I'm 'conditioned' to Rover interors, but I really don't like the interior in that Honda :mope Nor it has to be said, the black stick on after thought spoiler either. :chav Well, the doors are sans the wood strips which you either say is "poverty spec." aka the 214i, or you say it's a...

FS: Honda Concerto EX 1.6 auto - 68K mi, £320 start and no interest!

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-Concerto-No-Reserve-Set-/163059959761 Looks to be in restorable condition and genuine - 1 grandmother owned it for 22 years previously. Small amount of lower door and sill rust on one side, warped boot lip spoiler and a few scratches elsewhere. The 1.6 auto R8 is a v...
