Re: R8 "The Graduate" re-run September 14/15th 2019

We spent another day touring the Yorkshire Moors today and made our way up to Whitby. Back home now and have just enjoyed a crumble made with apples picked from Russ Swift's garden yesterday :) 450 miles covered in total, at an average of 31mpg. Quite a busy year for my 220T: it did Longbridge and G...

Re: My Cab - what is it?

Its 'name' will all depend on how the original V55 'first registration form' was filled in. IIRC, it was computer-generated by Rover and then the supplying dealer would fill in dealer and owner details.

So, the model designation and detail was probably keyed in by somebody at Longbridge.

Annual leave booked today :)

Need to see if I can book my Dad's spare room for an overnight stop (he's only 10 miles away from Lucknam Park) :wink3

Then I will just need to dig deep and pay the DVLA some road tax :cursing

Re: New member in Jersey

:welcome Complete immobiliser failure would normally knock out the starter motor circuit as well and when you turn the ignition on you would hear the two-tone 'alarm' coming from the fusebox area and the 'alarm' LED on the dashboard would stay lit. However there is still the possibility of a partial...

Re: Windscreen Washer Bottle Motors

When you operate the washers (front or rear), does it still set off the wipers for 3 or 4 wipes? If so, then you can assume the washer circuit going out of the switch and through the timer unit is ok and therefore the problem is more likely to be reservoir and pump-related. If not, then suspect a fa...

Re: T-series engine cooling fan inoperative

According to the Rover electrical manual, the normally aspirated and non-aircon T-series uses the same fan circuit as the 1.4 and diesel versions. (The turbo versions and cars equipped with aircon have a much more complex circuit controlled via the MEMS ECU). Annoyingly, it doesn't mention the locat...

Re: 5AS immobilizer repair/ by pass

To get the immobiliser bypassed or to code a replacement 5AS unit to the car, you will need a specialist with Rover Microcheck or Testbook. Alternatively, somebody with 'pscan' and the pre-OBD test harness. However...........I have had a look at the circuit diagrams in the Rover workshop manual and ...
