Re: new car

I have been using one as a daily drive for several months: definitely great fun to drive and a great contrast to my usual daily of a diesel 25 :cool

Re: Ostensibly BRG

It's easier to have paintwork issues above the fuel filler than you might think: lots of forecourts have signs saying "Extra long hoses, please fill from either side"! Careless manoeuvring of the nozzle into the filler neck from above will soon put nicks in the paintwork and even the occasional smal...

Classy and rare White Gold with beige interior, unfortunately some visible rust too (well it is in Exmouth, Devon, so right by the sea!)

Re: 216gti tailgate misaligned/higher than roof

A partially seized hinge will put the tailgate out of alignment and also cause flexing of the panel that the hinge is fixed to.

Re: HELP! Starting / electrical issue

It certainly sounds like the battery is very low. However, depending on the quality of the jump leads being used, even with a completely flat battery it is normally possible to make the starter turn, although probably not enough to start the engine. You have said that the only thing working now is t...

Somebody on ebay regularly advertises a clock repair service for around £25, IIRC

Search for 'Rover clock repair" or "Freelander clock repair"

Could you list their current prices here, Tim? (or are we at risk of complaints of copyright infringement?!)

Footman James (indoor) show, Event City, Manchester. September 15-16th.

Sadly, we are only on the reserve list for this one at the moment, as it has been heavily over-subscribed. We could end up being allocated a space at fairly short notice if somebody else drops out, so please post here if you may be able to make your car available at possibly 2-3 weeks' notice. Like ...

Re: NEC 2018 (Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery)

Keep the offers coming in, folks.......we discussed a few ideas at Gaydon on Sunday but nothing has been fixed yet.

We would be very interested in any race-prepared cars that might be available for the weekend (even better if they have actually completed a race or two! :wink3 )

Re: 'The BMC & Leyland Show' at the British Motor Museum 1st July 2018

When I booked the club stand, I was advised that we would be allocated enough space to accommodate all of the cars whose owners had put our club name on their booking form :)

I am sure we will be able to squeeze everybody in.

I hope to be there between 9.30 and 9.45

As far as I can find out, production of the Concerto stopped in 1994, not long after BMW acquired Rover Group.

If you are coming to Gaydon on Sunday, Tim, put one of the Ti seats in your boot and maybe we can all come up with some suitable suggestions :wink3

Re: convertable roof

I have just had a look in my (factory) electrical manual: There are three relays involved, although annoyingly the manual does not say where they are located! The main one is fed from fuse 13 and it earths via the handbrake switch (is your brake warning lamp still working when the handbrake is pulle...
