Re: 216 Headgasket Change Cost/Garage Suggestions

Does the chapel have any knowledge re CVT boxes? Wondered if it might be worth the trip if you have any experience and could look at both. Gearbox drives fine but when stationary the revs seem to stay at around 1500rpm. Does not show on Rev counter as in D, but you have to keep brake pedal down a li...

216 Headgasket Change Cost/Garage Suggestions

Anyone able to give me a rough idea for the cost of a headgasket change on a 216 Cabriolet. Rover engine.
Also any recommendations for garages to do the work in the West Mids area.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Re: Convertible Pump Refurb

To be honest, not investigated that closely yet. Wanted to get seals etc, so would be prepared to do/fix all at the same time when started investigating. Topping up with fluid is really easy, as purchased a mahoosive syringe and tube thing off ebay. Believe its used for feeding baby lambs, but makes...

Re: Convertible Pump Refurb

Was thinking about doing that, but wanted to have a gander at some instructions, and also get some replacement seals/washers if removing/tweaking.
Knowing my luck will cause more damage, so wanted to get spares ready in advance :)

Convertible Pump Refurb

Anyone know if there are any instructions or even kits to get the pumps refurbed.
Mine is still working, but leaks a bit in the boot.
So assume dodgy connection or seal.

Done a search, and not found anything, so thought I'd ask.
Cheers

Rover 216 Cab CVT Auto gearbox issue

Well, actually not sure if its an issue with the gearbox, but had to add a title. Is there an ECU that controls the engine revs for the gearbox? Gearbox is fine, no slipping, engages drive etc, but when coming up to junctions wants to keep going. Almost as though the engine revs are trying to be at ...

216 CVT Auto Gearbox Dipstick

Asking a favour if possible. Not sure if the CVT box on my 216 is overfilled. The dipstick "stopper" has cracked so is sliding up and down the dipstick. Therefore not certain how for far it needs to go in to get an accurate reading. If some on has a 216 CVT auto, would you be able to take a measurem...

Re: Rover 216 Cabriolet 1998 Fuel Pump Relay

Hi, Being a 98 I assume you have a K Series. If there's no spark it could be the Rotor Arm, there is a resistor in it that fails. Mine was missing for weeks, I blamed dirty fuel. I ground to a halt one evening, got the Wife to tow me home, and after the usual checks it turned out to be the £5 Rotor...

Leather Seat Swap

Hopefully just a quick question. Can anyone confirm if the later leather (sei) seats with pre tensioners are just a straight swap for early seats without the pretensioners. Looking into purchasing an early model (j reg) and have a set of leather seats (M reg) that I'd like to install. Its not the be...

Re: Rover 214 immob issue

Well dont think its the battery. Only charged it up as car would not start, so thought the easy things first. Think its starter motor related rather than immob. Will try and dig out my volt meter, but in the meantime could someone point me in the direction of the starter motor relay. Got a box full ...

Rover 214 immob issue

Basically not used the 214 for a while and battery was flat. Charged the battery. Key in lock for 10 secs. On and off a few times on the key fob, and car locks unlocks via the remote. Immob light on the dash also goes on and off as it should. Also the SRS light lights up on steering wheel when key i...
