Re: New R8 Rover 200 book to be published in April 2021

A bit late for Easter but not as fattening as an Easter egg! It’s on order.

Re: specialist rover garage

The big dealer garages only want cars that can be plugged into a computer that then tells them what to do - as Rover Revivals says, “employing monkeys”. I am lucky to have found a garage here in North Wales that looks, when you go in, like something from the 1950’s, where the owner is hands-on and u...

Re: RoverRevival Open Day (new year maybe)

Great idea, but as others have said, it all depends on the Pandemic situation at the time.
It would be just our luck here in North Wales to be still in lockdown and have to watch as the rest of the UK join you !

Re: Peak District Run N-S from Holmfirth

I would agree with a Spring event. This Covid19 outbreak is going to be with us until after Christmas as people are being very lax with masking and social distancing. It seems like a case of "it won't happen to me". You only need one member of your family to go for a test, because of other peoples s...

Re: 216 GTi TC + 75

Woodend Lane, off Speke Boulevard. Went to Stockton Wood Road school, then Stapleton Avenue and Central Avenue. Have been round the world since then and am now domicile in North Wales. Have had my 216 Cabriolet (red, which may give you a clue to my loyalties) for 23 years. It was previously a Rover ...

I grew up in Speke too. Two Rover owners from Speke! Well, that's what I call class.

Re: Peak District Run N-S from Holmfirth

Having read the Telegraph report it sounds just the thing for a northern run. However, caution is the word in these Covid days. Would be interested once Covid is beaten. Having had a taste of the Peak District, I would do the 75 mile day run then stay over and sample some of the hotels as listed in ...

Re: 1987 Rover 216S Scrappage Scheme Victim/Rescue?

Does this mean that the Owners Club has got the car for nothing as it would originally have been scrapped and the dealer would not have received anything for it. If so, and dependent on the work needed to restore it and the cost, I could be interested in acquiring it and adding it as a companion to ...

Re: 8th BL Rally, Milton Keynes Museum - Sun Sept 27th 2020

Yes, i’d go for something with a collar but I understand the constraints that a limited membership bring. Perhaps we fussy devils should wear a collared shirt underneath. Problem solved.

Re: How Much ???

Yes, an interesting car. I can understand the original number plate, R200OVR, not being included, but it is now on its third plate. What's the story behind that?

The £2,500/£3000 is an interesting opening bid.

Re: Giving up

Have you topped up the steering rack reservoir? If so, does it drive OK now?
What’s the chance of some photographs so that we can see the general condition?
If all is OK then the tenner in my pocket might stretch to £100.

Re: Giving up

This ten pound note is burning a hole in my pocket. Rather than see your cabbie end up in Leith Docks, I ask again - how much to fix the power steering these days? Any top-of-the-head estimates?

Re: Giving up

If the power steering rack is the only thing wrong with it, how much to put it right?
If it’s not too expensive then I could consider offering you the £10 that the scrappy wants and take it off your hands. 7

Re: Regional meet

I would be interested in meeting at Rover Revival as it would - a) - give the car, and us as owners, a spin out after the lifting of the lockdown b) - an opportunity to see the facilities of Rover Revival c) - an opportunity to meet other Rover addicts As a resident in the north I find this a very a...
