Re: Rover 214 Sei 20,122 miles from new

I can't say I have seen it in any of the car shows I have been to in Scotland with either my Tourer or Cabby & I've been to quite a few but seems a very nice example, good luck to who ever buys it.

Re: Starting problems again!!

One of my K series engined tourers has a love of rotor arms, the new replcements don't seem to last long I,ve taken to carrying a spare in the car along with a socket to change it. Ironic that in my original tourer which I still have, it's done over 240K on the same one.

Re: Rear brake N/Side

Changed wheel cylinder to day for another new one and wheel now locking up. Stripped the one from the car and did find one of the pistons semi siezed annoying, parts came from Dingbro so I wouldn't have thought they would have been on shelf for too long.Just goes to show you can't always discount ne...

Re: Rover 216 died

Sounds as if one of the main cables to the battery might have done its self some damage. Check the cable ends and battery terminals themselves for damage, follow main cables for both +tve & -tve to see if they have any breaks along their length.Do you have side or headlights working?

Re: Standing water

Coil or what it's called on the 1.6 K series engine is located at the rear of the engine below the inlet manifold. The HT lead passes some metal components on it's path to the distributor cap.Make sure this lead is not shorting out especialy if wet onto an earthing point.Clean this lead and make sur...

Re: Rover 216 Cabriolet 1998 Fuel Pump Relay

Most likley the rotor arm one of my K series engined seems to go through them I can only assume the are of a poorer quality than the originals.Starts by the occasional misfire under load and gradualy develops and eventually engine cuts out and won't re start.
