As its a very late car, it wouldn't surprise me if it had the Ford box that was in use late on, rather than the Peugeot R65.

We could certainly do with getting more torque at the bottom of the rev range on my daughter's 1.4 Rover 25 -with the very light flywheel, the clutch is quite tricky for a learner.

Possibly broken solder joints inside the relay. It's a common fault on, for example, the ECUs of Honda powered Rovers of the 80s and 90s

As long as you can avoid cities that charge you an arm and a leg for driving a diesel on their streets, then the longevity and economy of the diesel is very attractive

Honda steering racks on 827s are prone to this - and as an early 216, it will have a Honda engine and Honda steering rack
