Re: R8 Press Launch re-run - Oct 10th 2019

Great day, thanks, that was an amazing experience! What a great venue too, can't imagine how it must have been back then with booze and a hangover on day 2 with the long drive!

Re: R8 Press Launch re-run - Oct 10th 2019

Hey, just to confirm (sorry it's late, boss has just let me know today that I can get time off) I'll be attending in my 216GSi, no passengers, just me.

Re: r8 headlight conversion

I fancy putting quad headlights behind stock shaped lenses. It's one thing I really liked about the some of the Super Touring era BTCC cars. Not had many cars with the right shaped lights to start with, so would be nice to get round to it on the R8. Thinking about this as said above myself... Think...

Re: Newbie with R8 416.

Hi all, just picked up a late R8 416 SLi to use as my MG Metro appears to have dissolved in the rain! Not driven an R8 since the new 200's used as lone cars from the Land Rover dealership I worked at. Will no doubt end up giving it a few tweaks, but want to try and stay fairly sensible this time!? ...

You can make anything fit.

So true, and cable ties save weight over actual fixings.

I'm now examining BMW E36 units... Interesting, and decent value. Oh god where will this end?

Re: r8 headlight conversion

You have definitely posted in the right forum.......and I am sure there has been a discussion about headlamp mods within the last 12 months. I can't remember the detail, but I think somebody mentioned doing something with a conversion that had been made for a Fiat Punto or Citroen Xantia??? Xantia?...

216 GTi Twin cam

https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-216-gti-twin-cam-1991-J-5-door-white-project-spares-repairs-/123090853173?nav=SEARCH Very cheap, runs and drives, looks like a bargain if it's as solid as the seller says. Oh god I need somewhere to store these things!!! I want it, but cannot as I have no place to keep...

Re: Honda Concerto breaking

Thanks for posting, Will: we have a few members with Concertos. There is also a small demand for Concerto-specific items (like rear lights etc) by R8 owners who would like to do some subtle modifications. Tempted to do that myself but resisting... However if anyone ever finds that digital climate s...

Re: The New MOT Test

A new set of regulations are coming into force post 20th May. There is one set of emissions tests foe vehicles registered between 1st Aug 1992 and Aug 1995. I have just been told that these test's are going to be more stringent than before? Non cat R8's between Oct 89 and July 31st 92 are thus subj...

Re: BMC/BL Rally & Spares Day, Peterborough 5th August 2018

Sounds good, I intend to attend. ANPR? Time to cover up plates, or use someone else's, ofc. :laughing2 1992 216gsi, clearly. Hopefully, less rusty if my July rust-attacking has any success at all. Well, should rust that quickly again anyway. Anyone good at doing paint, haha? I will probably attempt ...

Some more pictures of my car...

Just thought I'd show my more pictures of my car, also a shot of the BMW MINI wheels (1st generation) as these fit and there are 9001 styles available of those to all interested parties. Sticky backed centre badges available on fleabay, bought my aluminium ones for a bargain price from Bulgaria! Fro...

MG ZR from MG ZS rear :)
Interesting! How much lower does it sit? I want to improve my handling without going too low if possible.

Edit: also do the whole shock absorber units fit? Or just springs?

Re: Greetings, 216GSi owner here

:welcome She looks like a nice straight example and that light blue matches well with the Tempest Grey! That's quite a rare colour I don't think that I've seen one before. Try changing the gearbox oil first, it should be done every 24,000; use a SAE 10-40 engine oil. :) Just had a new clutch, and d...
