What kind of alloys are they?
Hello chaps. I've got a good opportunity to get 4 alloys with good tyres (Starfire 185/55/R15 82V) for a very fair price 80€ the lot (£70)... nearly a steal! I'm told by the seller they come from a 214 SI mk 3. But which is the name of that alloy? And which models was it fitted to exactly? Directly ...

Re: Part Supply Survey for Rover cars
You do still have Theo Isaak, at Lemix Automotive Parts . We in the UK have the reciprocal problem where residual stocks are on the EU side of the Channel. I've got a suspicion that our aftermarket repair panels are all imported, so will be going up in price, possibly as I type! But his website loo...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?
Dampers have a lot of work to do so a new set after 20 years is likely to be noticed :D I'll see if I can find any reference to Orange springs but don't hold your breath... Alternatively, if anyone else with a Cabby wants to look under their wheel arches :wink3 If dampers were the genuine ones, the...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?
Hello John! Good news: old springs weren't yet in the bin and here they are with the colour of the stripe which appears rather orange-y. But why from orange I got pink & grey ones, I haven't the faintest clue... Anyone? https://www.mg-rover.org/attachments/img_14781-jpg.136244/ BTW after 22km (14mls...

Re: Rover 200 eletric windows dont work
Both the electric windows in my 25 1.4 failed a few years ago, not simultaneously but same year nevertheless. Each time the lifting motor within the door trim was the culprit. I bought on Ebay 2 good used mechanisms and hey presto they were back on duty. Don't forget to lubricate everywhere needed i...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?
Looking good :D What colour/s did your old spring have on them, if they were visible after all these years? Sorry Sir, they were damn muddy & mucky and I didn't make any effort to clean the old ones. I should have asked my good mechanic to put them aside to have a close look. I'll tell you my feeli...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?
At last my springs arrived after a very long journey: 2 days only from Midlands to France (Lyon, then Toulouse), then a whole week pending waiting for French custom good will, then another week pending because French bureaucracy was requiring some missing papers (don't ask me which!) then nearly ano...

Re: Shock absorber or... ?
Regarding a possible mismatch or a damper damaged, I'll know tomorrow when showing the car to my good reliable mechanic. About the type of springs required I asked for neither rough nor lowering ones And here is Ron answer: " Pink is usually MG ZR but do not worry when i am in work i have original e...
