Sometimes the 'Prong' on the flap gets bent out of line & needs gently bending back into position.
Yes agree with this. I’ve had to do this with mine.

That looks tidy :) do you have much to do ?
It needs a head gasket (kit inc pump/cam belt) for starters :closedeyes
Not had chance to look at much else, but hopefully not much more than that!

Rover 214 SEi project

Creating a new thread for the 214 SEi I purchased about a month ago. It’s metallic charcoal, 49k miles, 3 owners since new, been in same family for years. Been off the road for 18 months. Probably paid a bit too much for it but heart ruled my head as I was very fond of SEi’s I’ve owned in the past. ...

Sounds like a nice car. Bronze was a discontinued colour in 1995 so potentially a rare car!

Re: NEW HISTORICAL ADVERTS SECTION ON THE WEBSITE

Just a quick one, I followed the guidance in the first post, ie click Cars, then any of the models covered, but I cannot see an ‘Adverts’ sub section. I am using iOS/iPhone.

Hi, welcome to the club! Nice story, and lovely cars! Would I be able to post your pics on the official club social media feeds, eg Twitter and Instagram?

All the best

BCA Auctions

Has anyone ever bought a car at a BCA auction? There’s a car I’m interested in (not a Rover) that I’d like to have a go at.

The downside is it’s at the Livingston branch in Scotland so it’s a long way to go to risk coming back without it.

Out of interest, for those of you that can't open up the files, are you able to open the photos in "Past Events" section of the website?
Yes, can see those OK.

Re: Jump Starting

What are the battery readings on a multimeter with the engine on, off, under load etc? Sounds like a new battery may be in order.

That’s an early one - surely a candidate for one of the first Cabbys registered, and perhaps one of the oldest cabriolets in the club?
