Re: Fuel tank 2.0

Another option being discussed was to drill the mount ring off (drill though its spot welds), seal up the holes (weld or countersunk bolts with rubber seals) and reposition the mount ring rotated by the correct amount and tack-weld though the holes you drilled to get it off, so everything lines up ...

Re: Air Con Condenser Fan Inoperative

It seems highly unlikely to me that the A/C fan motor would be different in principle to the engine cooling fan, which certainly does free-wheel.

Presumably the fan has a plug and socket connection to a loom? Perhaps disconnect that and confirm correct voltage there?

Re: Fuel tank 2.0

Isn't Fuel Tank 2.0 the technology that keeps catching fire in Elon Musk's cars?

As for R8 tanks. The envelope shape is bound to be the same, but apertures and attachments will vary by fuel delivery system.

Re: Looking for wiring help *laughs*

The door switch action is interpreted by the MFU behind the dash fusebox. Therefore it is highly likely that the switch wires have a termination very near there!

Looks like the reluctor ring might have caught a foreign object and dragged it past the pickup armature.

Re: Headgasket

Is coolant circulating as it should be? That is if you start from cold and idle until warm, do you feel heat creeping across the radiator, and is there a dribble through the small return hose to the header tank?

Re: Heater valve

It's worth checking Rimmer's for the equivalent part on other models, which may still be available. They may use the same valve on a different bracket. I notice it's just attached by two screws.

I wonder what a 'heat map' of our members' geographical distribution would look like?

Rover didn't install redundant wiring!
You could look out for a copy of the workshop electrical manual, which would detail the wiring differences.
