Re: 400 at the cube factory

Strange that I recalled that a Nightfire 400 was in play last year, but forgot it was me who started a thread about it here! I paid it a visit today, spent 5 1/2 hours with it, so it no longer looks like its previous photos! I've had the wings, which have localised rust bubbles, but thankfully solid...

Re: 400 at the cube factory

Wings and most of the interior for me, plus bits and bobs around the engine. Engine bay looks mint, so quite likely enthusiast-owned and I wonder why it hasn't been recognised by anyone here. I'm solo, so can't satisfy my hankering for subframes, though hate to see them lost. Stuff needs to be dropp...

Re: 400 at the cube factory

Just phoned them. It's on the yard awaiting its first vultures.

I'm going up tomorrow morning, hoping it's not rainy|windy|frosty. Anyone else going to be about?

Re: 400 at the cube factory

That had been on their 'Future Breakers' list for over a month now. I enquired about it and all they would say is that it was awaiting an insurer's decision. Days are even shorter now to get there and pull what I want! (Manual door cards.) Their Rovers don't hang about long. Hmm. Wonder if the weath...

Re: 216 Cabriolet passenger windscreen wiper failed

First move would be to take the arm off, clean out any debris and reassemble.
If that failed, then a new arm would be simplest - if you can find one!

It's unlikely that the spindle is worn, since that is steel, and the arm is die cast alloy.

Re: Door vents - never seem to blow anything

They are part of the demister ducting, so only work when the output knob is set to demist.

Bought the car tonight and arranged to get it recovered to me via ‘Shiply’. Hope it will arrive on Friday or Sat. Will post up pics at the weekend.
How much did transport cost?
Be handy to know, to factor in as a ball-park when considering distant prospects.

Re: Radiator fan not working

I believe the CTS would still be in the 'short' coolant circuit even when the 'long' circuit through the radiator is closed, either by blockage or thermostat.
Can you feel heat across the whole width of the radiator?

Re: Radiator fan not working

Have you confirmed coolant flow through the radiator?
Pump or thermostat fault would affect that.

How is the cabin heater behaving?
Pump fault would affect that.

Re: Radiator fan not working

You could investigate the ECU response by temporarily wiring a 4k7 potentiometer into the CTS plug. You could relate the 'fan on' resistance to equivalent temperature via the specified behaviour of the CTS.

Best to do the bumper inserts when warm. At the age they are now, they're rather brittle!

Re: Club Member Discount with XPart

Could one of the "several projects" perhaps be online access to an EPC, given that Rimmer's are stripping NLA's from their web version?

But great news that they've formed an active link with the Club!

Re: Front Sub frame bent

Also i am guessing that as my drivers side wheel has been shunted back then it is the Front sub frame that has been bent/I need to replace? Could you provide a pic of the damage (pref with wheel removed)? The inner end of the lower suspension arm mounts into the 'rear-front' subframe, and the shunt...
