Re: Brake compensator valve

Externally, ALB/ABS and non-ABS look the same. Internally, the ALB/ABS one is simplified, one half is just a passive distribution block. So it would need changing. Naturally, they are NLA as an assembly. Don't know whether the R3 ones are the same valve on a different bracket and so could be swapped...

Re: FS; Early 216 GSi

I've posted this one ages ago, but search isn't picking that thread up. It had original dealer paperwork with it. Have to give the vendor credit for sticking with it for such a long time. Perhaps the auto box is a turn-off? Edit: [Rubbish! It's a manual! I mis-remembered from the earlier ad. It is p...

Rover's WSM is happy with tying the loose calipers up out of the way with a piece of wire.

Would a look down the plug bores with an endoscope device save taking the head off only to find fortune had been smiling?

Re: 'Brian' The 25 - Repairs & Update

There seems to be quite a loose definition of 'MLS' in general use. Goes with the times, I suppose, there are no longer any absolute truths. Detail shots of the construction of some MLS gaskets show more than one steel layer, and often the sandwich is united by eyelet rivets through tabs extending f...

It's only when the engine isn't running is where I'm having problems.
May be worth checking your battery voltage with/without engine running?
Is it the same with key in ignition position but engine stopped?

Re: Interior light

The interior light delay is indeed controlled by the MFU. When the bargains were around, I bought one as a drop-in upgrade for my poverty spec non-delay original.
The door switches are very basic, and the contact is not enclosed. There's a single spade, the return is grounded via the bodyshell.

I do share StubbornPatriot's anxieties. I have however acquired a facebook account to keep an eye on areas of interest. I noticed that a car offered through the Club was posted there recently, but not here. Actually, I'm getting facebook fatigue already as regards keeping up to date - so much clicki...

The particular air vents mentioned here are not part of the light clusters. They hide behind the wrap-around side wings of the rear bumper.
