Re: Bedfordshire rover meet up?!

Cheers, I'll make enquiries, not due til July .. I have been thinking it would be nice to give her some TLC as I've done bangernomics for 10 years and I feel she needs repaying for being so reliable, unusually for a female! :laughing2 10 years motoring for £340... not bad. I'd like to find other guy...

Re: Bedfordshire rover meet up?!

Thanks
I pay about that for regular insurance, I ping pong between AA and Hastings alternate years.
Was hoping to find one with <5K mileage and still keep NCD for around £100.

Re: N reg 216 hatchback (Honda) trouble starting

I agree it is worth it.....there are two camps of people who keep old cars on the road, those who do it out of love of good cars, I used to have a Bristol and Sunbeam but no more, and those that do it out of necessity. Austerity, which incidentally has nothing to do with the national debt, is about ...

Re: N reg 216 hatchback (Honda) trouble starting

Put the battery on this morning, cranked over but didn't start first time. Put the throttle to the floor and tried a second time, fired straight away. :clapping It's been on a good run and I notice that it is smoother. It had been prone to occasional lumpiness so I think the Relay was on the way out...

Re: N reg 216 hatchback (Honda) trouble starting

"My money's always on the relay first!" yes, from the comments it was the obvious suspect, now I've resoldered the connection that looked the likely culprit I think that may be eliminated unless there is a reason to think otherwise.

N reg 216 hatchback (Honda) trouble starting

Hi, I started the car last week no problem and turned it off straight away after a cold snap. A few hours later restarted to go out and after 5 secs the engine stopped. Having researched the likeliest culprit I've now re-soldered the Honda Main relay. All the dash board lights come on as usual and c...

Re: 214 SEi central locking nightmare

Thanks,

Took the door panel off today and it does seem the door lock is the problem.

However it looks like a complete door strip down to get it out.

Is that what you had to do E_T_V?

Re: Removing doorpanels

Thanks.
Yes discovered the large screw on the second attempt which was buried quite deep and dirty. Came off easily after that.

Re: Removing doorpanels

Hi,
I'm attempting to remove the driver door panel on 1995 216 bit after removing everything there seems to still be a connection at the top of the handgrab. I've removed the small screw but there is a yellow plastic clip that doesn't want to move. Any ideas please.

Re: Random wiper activity

Thanks E_T_V, Took the motor off, drilled the rivets and it was exactly in the picture with one contact burnt away. Simple solder with a bit of copper wire and hey presto all is back working properly. Got through MOT first time, just needed a new driver mirror as the plastic film one put on a few ye...
