Re: Random wiper activity

Crepello - do you have a link or part no for Rimmers MFU please as if cheap then will try that first before dismantling the wiper motor.

Re: Random wiper activity

E_T_V - my problem is more as you describe. On intermittent the wipers cannot make the return journey and stop positioned vertically on the windscreen. I have to flip the quick wipe to get them back into the correct position. I assume the wiper motor is more likely to be culpable than the relay/MFU....

Rover 216 Heater Blower

Hi,

The blower works on settings 3 and 4 but not 1 and 2.
I have the central console removed and quite a few screws but an unable to extract the switch from behind the facia. It seems a simple part to replace (assuming replace available).

Any tips on removal and replacement welcome.

Re: Starting Problem honda engine 216, 1.6 N reg

There is a local scrapyard I may make a visit to for the relay when I can, just in case.

Re: Starting Problem honda engine 216, 1.6 N reg

Thanks to all the help and advice, just taken it for a burn up the dual carriageway, total cost £4.95 for the plug spanner. I will replace all the ignition parts, plugs, HT leads, Distro and Rotar arm in due course as they are all clearly past their sell by date. Cleaned the plugs and reset the rath...

Re: Starting Problem honda engine 216, 1.6 N reg

Have purchased a plug spanner and lifted the plugs.

NGK list BCPR6E-11 as recommended and BCPR6EIX-11 as an upgrade.

Does anyone have a preference and suggest able to reasonable supplier please?

Also what's the gap measurement please?

Thanks for help in advance.

Re: Starting Problem honda engine 216, 1.6 N reg

Thanks, The first click has a 'der-dum' feel to it, then about a second later there is another click when the 'Engine check' light goes off. I can hear a slight whirring sound in the engine between the two clicks. It sounds as though the relay is fine. I took the distro off and the terminals and rot...

Re: Starting Problem honda engine 216, 1.6 N reg

I can feel the brown relay 'click' as I turn the ignition on, am I correct in thinking that is a sign it is functioning fine please?

Hi, I have a Honda engined 1.6 N reg 216 which runs well and starts ok. I read elsewhere that the distributor cap for the Honda engine can crack. Q. Is that true does anyone know please? The reason I ask is that the other night I started the engine but it then cut out. Since then it has offered to f...
