Nope-I’m not having any sticky goop go anywhere near it! The black tar type stuff can actually cause more problems than it solves, too. :o

It doesn’t get driven in the wet or salt (it’s SORN’d over winter) and is washed every time it’s back from being taken out. :cool

Mine had a thick rubbery type stuff applied at a few months old it is still on there, I imagine that’s why mine is still in decent nick. R8

Itcaptainslow says his car is not driven in the wet and is wash and dried every time it goes out. Doesn't everyone who owns a lovely Rover do that? I certainly do.

Been toying with the idea of selling the BRM and thinning my classic fleet a little to enable the purchase of a nice daily drive (eyeing up a new-ish Golf GTI or Hyundai i30 N).

I’ve really got too many cars!
