At the risk of being ridiculed.....

#1 Post by redandwhitE » Mon Apr 09, 2018 9:36 pm

I have just purchased a '95 416 SLi (will sort out some photos soon, but its not one for the purists). I have owned a a '93 418 and a 216 so should know the answer to this but:
Is there a fuel warning light in addition to the gauge?

I will accept mickey taking and personal slights for the next week or so......

:welcome
And for what it's worth about 3 of my Rovers the fuel low light has never worked although I brought them all secondhand. Think it's a common fault with the sender but may be wrong :o

If it's an R8 (aka wedge), then the answer is no.

If it's an HHR (aka bubble), then the answer is maybe.

With your car being 1995 registered, it could be either :)

Its an R8. Interesting that it has electric sunroof, windows and mirrors yet no fuel light!

Thanks for the info gents. I've let it run quite low to see if a light came on but will do the sensible thing and visit the petrol station.

I’ve had a lot of R8’s but never had one with a ‘low fuel’ light. I’m almost certain the R8 never had such a thing.

Shouldn’t need one, should never get that low in the tank to dredge up that 20yr muck.

I agree but I wanted to know if there was one. I have a '98 Audi convertible which also does not have a low fuel light.....just surprising that neither does.
