Steering rack r8 same across the range?

#1 Post by Vinny1979 » Mon Aug 19, 2019 10:39 pm

Do all r8 steering racks fit each other?

Been offered one from a 216 cabriolet

Mine is a 220

Many thanks

Fundamentally yes but you may need to change the ram feed pipes between some derivatives.

I think it's only the D16s where these pipes are significantly different.
I like Twin Cams.... and Single Cams

Late to the party on this one.

If you're looking at power steering racks, those with the Honda engine at least are different from those with the K-series. There are physical differences in the subframe which prevent them being interchanged,

Cheers,
Bill.

Hi bill

I have a rack in my shed wrapped up still!
Let’s hope it fits or requires minimal work ha
