Re: Chrome/plastic trim
The easiest way is to take the door cards off and unclip the plastic trims that poke through the door skin.
Once off you can use silicon lube or wd on the back of the trim to help it slide out.
Then just feed the excess back through the plastic trim and pull HARD.

Re: Chrome/plastic trim
Do you mean the exterior chrome trims on the bumpers?

Least risky way is to remove the bumpers, then you can release the clips and pop them off from behind.

Re: Chrome/plastic trim
Headlining is a 2-day job ideally, as it's preferable to leave the glue to dry. But I expect it could be done in a day with a break in between gluing and refitting.
Took me nigh-on 2 hours to release the headlining doing it myself, but it was the first time. Two people can get the shell off in less time, as we did at the NEC in Feb this year, and you need at least two (and preferably three) to refit the shell as you need to hold it up and refit some fir-tree plugs L, R and front centre before doing the rest. Everything has to come out - side trim, seat belts, all the roof furniture, etc. But it's achievable.
Material is about £50 tops, and the glue - a couple of cans for about £20 max.
A professional car re-trimmers might charge you up to £1000 to do the job!

Re: Chrome/plastic trim
Best to do the bumper inserts when warm. At the age they are now, they're rather brittle!
Re: Chrome/plastic trim

Re: Chrome/plastic trim
Rimmers had a limited stock of the front trims, but the rear is NLA and nowhere on Xpart lists it.
