Oil sump

#1 Post by Hammond » Fri Jun 26, 2020 11:56 am

I'm going to replace the oil sump on my K series engine soon. I've got a new gasket to go on too but my question is do I use sealant with it too? If so which one should I use?
Thanks in advance

This is the most relevant content I have for the K series sump - from the manual for the coupe, tourer and cabriolet from 1996 to 1999 - so 1.6 K16. I *assume* the instructions will be the same for the HHR 1.6 K16 engine:

The Wynns RTV gasket maker looks like it has good credentials:

I've been very impressed with that stuff.
