rear drum to disc conversion

If you have discs on a Escort you were probably using the Focus or Sierra calipers which were one of the worse ever made, the Escort if fitted with discs (non Cosworth) had brake shoes inside the disc which will lock wheels at any speed :laughing2 on another note my ZS and ZR have discs on back and the handbrake is really good, heard the car on the burn out strip and Santa Pod no trouble :laughing as shown at 4:20 against the Mk7 Golf GTI :wink3

you can also use rear trailing arm , disc etc of a rover 45 . :) :) :) :)

Good point , will up date when I have done this , but I know the rest fits , the front end on the 45 is not the same .😀

I know it's an old thread, it's just info for any one else planning it.

Did this conversion this weekend, took about 2 hours.

Used the complete Arm set up from a 1994 Cabbie, including all the links & handbrake cables. Took the liberty of upgrading the trailing arm bushes for Ploy bushes, which just push in.

Very pleased with the results, & they look sooooo much better than the drums.
