Southwest meetings 2019

#1 Post by Red Icon » Wed Jan 02, 2019 12:02 pm

Hi our next meeting at the Highwayman Shepton Mallett is Saturday 26th January.
As we haven't had any new faces over the last few years, and the members that do turn up are having trouble getting their cars through the MOT (emissions) this could be our last meeting here as the Rover 200/400 owners club.

Is this a fundamental ageing problem, or "just" a maintenance/service issue?

Emissions testing certainly for petrol engined cars of our vintage have not changed. What may have changed is the fitment of cheap pattern components by owners! I've just noticed that oxygen sensors for D16 Twin Cams are no longer available, what are Rimmers playing at? :cursing

In fairness as of yet no petrol has changed (because it's the correct fuel to use :clapping )

Cheers.
Might be a little after midday, as need to be in Bridport mid-late morning for a customer.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Don't leave it too late because they leave shortly after lunch, about 1:30 pm.

Likewise.
Any joy with the Coupe ?
Do not be rash, as the Coupe is on my 'bucket list'!
Might not fit two Terriers in the back like my Tourer, but it is just right to drive the Coast Road from Bridport to Weymouth every Sunday morning.

Glad to see some new faces today many thanks to Colin, David and James for joining the usual gang at the Highway man for an informal lunch and natter. Good to see a couple of cabbies being loved and cherished.Good food and company and some sunshine too. :clapping :clapping :clapping :clapping
