I've just had to buy new tyres for the coupe, there was no cracks or bulges and plenty of tread left. The reason was they were over 10 years old, some will say why bother or mine is older then that. When they came to change them they had trouble as the side walls had gone hard and would not bend easily to get them over the rim. Hard side walls make the suspension seem harder and if you hit a pothole there is little or no give which could make the tyre explode. So if your tyres are over 10 years old get them checked and replace them.
