I could have helped with transport (on my trade plates) and storage but if our south side colleagues can help all is good.

Offers of help are very welcome and probably necessary !

I'm expecting to discuss more details with Beechwood today and work out an initial plan.

More soon :cool

Does this mean that the Owners Club has got the car for nothing as it would originally have been scrapped and the dealer would not have received anything for it.
If so, and dependent on the work needed to restore it and the cost, I could be interested in acquiring it and adding it as a companion to my Cabbie.
An ongoing saga I think.

Just as a company note, if beechwood “donate” the car it can go on their advertisement expenditure as we will happily promote how awesome beechwood were to donate the car to us to make sure it survives.

And they can put what ever figure they want in and it comes off their taxable income :wink3

That might come in handy short term Kev saving empty trailers up to mine, giving me a bit more time to make space for it.

The basic plan is that we're going to take the car on and look for the best long-term owner.

As previously with cars we've restored, we won't profit from this. Profits will go to Muscular Dystrophy in this case.

If all goes well we're looking to collect the car next week and bring it to the Milton Keynes BL Rally on the 27th before storage/restoration.

We think we should try to keep as much of the 402k mile patina as possible

Just had these pics through

It now looks more white than beige in these pics and it's down on the DVLA database as white.

I put this on Twitter and Instagram this morning, and the news has gone down very well indeed, with lots of comments and retweets from petrol heads, the Beechwood Mazda dealer, and the odd motoring journalist :)

Even better news is that someone has offered to make a donation towards to recommissioning of the car. As soon as I get some contact details I will put him in touch with you John B :clapping

It’s safe to say the Tweet is the most popular since the club Twitter feed started, with 367 likes as of 10:25 this morning, and 47 retweets.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with Twitter, take it from me that’s quite impressive!

Also, we have risen from around 250 followers to 317 in the space of 24 hours.

If this car has done one thing, it’s raised the profile of the club and interest in our cars :cool

It’s nice to see that people have seen this sd3 with this big mileage and know that we as a club keep them alive.
