Postby GTiJohn » Mon Sep 11, 2017 1:33 pm

A compact and friendly event at the MK museum, so lots of things for all the family.

Current forecast suggestion nice weather for Sunday, especially in the morning but this is the UK so it could change...

The gases are open from 9 for show cars and 10 for visitors. It's not a big event so the queue is unlikely to be long at any time.

See you there! :D

The main road into the site H2 Millers Way is closed west of the museum. This will affect people coming from the A5 and the west. When you leave the A5 you need to take the A422 H3 Monks Way (signed Milton Keynes East & Bedford) and then at the 2nd roundabout take the first exit on to V6 Grafton Street and then at the next roundabout take the first exit on to H2 Millers Way (that is open as far as McConnell Drive and the entrance to the museum.

The road closure will not affect anybody coming from the M1 junctions 13 or 14.

For the uninitiated Milton Keynes roads are based on a grid system. North - South roads are numbered with a V and West East are numbered with a H.

Hope you all have a great day. Apart from mine being a bit too tatty to be seen in good company, my other hobby society has its annual get-together this Sunday in Aylesbury.

There happens to be an R8 up for sale near MK at the moment which is tempting me as an upgrade candidate, although being out of storage options would mean a hurried departure for one of mine. This is the one:

I could imagine it might show up on Sunday with a 'for sale' note in the windscreen. If it does, could someone give it a quick once-over and let me know how solid it is please?

Which probably to no-ones surprise means (V)ertical and (H)orizontal, when looking at a gridmap of MK. Used to hate all of the roundabouts linking all the roads, when I worked there. People who actually lived there used to scrub out the NSF tyre of their cars from taking so many roundabouts!

Same applied to me when I lived and worked in Swindon :laughing2 But having a Maestro 2.0 EFi and a Metro GTi at the time meant that every roundabout was fun :wink3 (Even more so with the Metro, as it was a company car!)
