Cracking offer from Russ Swift! Shame it’s a long way from me and I’ve not got the full day available tomorrow, otherwise I would come!

Damn 220 turbo radiators and having to get one reconditioned or made to order. Wasn't the water pump housing apparently.

Which happened a few hours after this, last Sunday,

Fittingly we had 8 R8s on yesterday's Graduate re-run.

We assembled at the Angel at Topcliffe,

then drove up Sutton Bank and stopped for lunch and an ice cream at Hutton-le-Hole
Image

before driving along Blakey Ridge to Middlesbrough and the Newport Bridge.

We then had a invitation to pop over to the edge of the Dales to see Russ Swift ( which we were late for :blushing ), have a cuppa and a chinwag with him and his lovely wife
Image

and finally have a lovely sunset for our journeys back to our respective overnight stops.

Thank you to everybody who participated in the event - it was great to see and talk everybody who came out for the day.

A full report will appear in the next edition of The Viking.

Moody sunset glow = Rover brochure lighting!

The cars have worn much better than pop stars of the same era!

We spent another day touring the Yorkshire Moors today and made our way up to Whitby.

Back home now and have just enjoyed a crumble made with apples picked from Russ Swift's garden yesterday :)

450 miles covered in total, at an average of 31mpg. Quite a busy year for my 220T: it did Longbridge and Gaydon earlier this year, will be going to Milton Keynes at the end of this month, followed by a trip to Wiltshire for the Press launch re-run and possibly then on down to Somerset for a family visit. Before winter (and possibly longer) hibernation, it will be going to the club AGM at the end of October.

I estimate a grand total of 1500 miles, which will be more than it has covered in the last 5 years put together! :cool
