Thankyou to all that organised the Re-run of the R8 Press Relaunch.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Excellent pics Steve
What a day that was! It all went according to plan except for the closed road diversion near Tetbury and a cooling issue which delayed Kevin W's arrival.
Thank you to everyone who participated and were6looking forward to some interesting press coverage. When you see it pls post a link here.
Ps. I slept well last night

Thank you to John & Jeremy and every one else who made the day by attending!

Thanks to everyone involved for an interesting and enjoyable day. It’s huge credit to the club the venue was secured and the day run so well. Lunch was appreciated, too!
Apologies I didn’t do the drive, unfortunately I had to be in Cambridge for 8pm to start work!
The drive home was a strange one for me-my sat nav rerouted me near Oxford due to an accident, and ended up taking me through some lanes I remember vividly from being sat in the back of my parents’ 214SEI on the way to visit their friends who lived out that way. Quite a bizarre experience to be driving those roads in my own 214SEI some twenty five years later!

Looks like you had a fantastic day - so sorry that I could not get time off else nothing else would have kept me away.
Cannot think of another event like it and certainly unlikely to ever get such an opportunity again.
(You cannot tell I am too envious I hope.)

Great day, thanks, that was an amazing experience! What a great venue too, can't imagine how it must have been back then with booze and a hangover on day 2 with the long drive!

A smartly dressed couple with stylish luggage would have set that scene off perfectly!

I did the dress-up bit (I was going for exactly what you describe), but I wasn't part of a couple

But you're right, there always seemed to be a glamorous lady at a front door, waving off her hubby in a 200 or 400 series. And the luggage clearly visible in the open boot changed from tartan to black leather pretty much with the arrival of the R8, welcoming in the "sophisticated" 1990s
