Rover800.info/forum Visit "The Barn"

#1 Post by MG Mal » Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:31 pm

There is a meet planned by the members of the rover 800 forum on Sun 15th of Feb. :D

The Barn is Located Nr Wetherby North Yorks (YO26 7RQ). :o

As a guide to distance for those of you in the midlands, from Shelfield in Walsall to my house is 115 miles, and from my house to the barn is 43 miles. Obviously the direct route will be less miles and quicker.

Sounds miles away, but time wise its a couple of hours (M42/A42-M1/A1).

Plans are afoot to have some form of BBQ and a "Parts Rummage".

There is a large pile of New Rover stock at the barn, in which some of you may find parts you need /want for your cars. :cool

Dan and Lindsey have been to the barn before and can better describe whats there (if they can remember *laughs*).

Its mainly an excuse for a run out before the season starts in earnest.

So, if you fancy a meet or a rummage then why not pop up?

BTW: BBQ if it happens will be for those who "Bring there own", not being elitest or anything, but if you fancy one, then grab your gear and raid the fridge before leaving. :tt2

Thanks for that! It is a bit grubby up there, and due to weather I suggest warm togs be warn.

Anyhoo, three weeks to go and no takers by the looks of things.

Need to work out parking on the day etc, as many of the barns "residents" will be outside to ensure "rummaging room" inside.

If you are thinking of coming up.............

Please start a list of who will be attending, if you are already on a list on another forum, plaese dont add your name. (I confuse easily!)

What time do you want us there? I'll see if I can drag myself away from my project for a bit to pay a visit. Its been ages since I've been up there.

What sort of bits are up there? ie many R8 bits. How do we go about acquiring these bit as well?

In other words, how much money shall I bring and who do I give it to? *laughs*

Sounds great! I live in Wakefield so will probably call up! I'm after some silver wing mirrors.

No BBQ for me though - I'm a tree hugging veggie!

Good to meet some members today, and those from the 800 club, I even met a guy from the 800 club who only lived a mile away from me....small world.

Mal has an Aladdin's cave of Rover/Austin/MG parts. I didn't quite find what I was after, but many did, and all in all an enjoyable morning, before I had to rush off for an appointment to look at a house.

All the best

I think we need to wear shirts with out names on at these events! I don't think I got to speak to you unfortunatly. I was too busy with a head in giant box.

I came away with some bits and pieces that will prove useful.

A new T16 turbo oil drain pipe, and two maestro hubs (needed for my van).
