Does the club have some contemporary articles of Marketing Material, Road Tests, Range Brochures, Dealer Literature, etc. already? If not, I am looking at what's available on e-bay - probably can't get it in time for 21st Sept, but could have it ready for NEC. Any thoughts? Cheers, Duncan.

I can bring some brochures and a hard back launch brochure . Will I be OK to turn up in my Rover 45?

Sounds a very interesting event with a good number of cars attending. What a pity I'm so far away - over 700 miles round trip from here in Scotland - it's too much with the other things I've got on. :sad Our 214 GSi is a fairly early model. It has VIN 222977 and from dates I've found inside was built in early February 1990, first registered on the 23rd. We've had it from new, so coming up for 25 years. It's Oyster Beige over Tempest Grey.

Hope the event is a great success and look forward to seeing photos and report later. I will try and get the Rover down to the Midlands again one day.

That's a pity, especially as you've got a 1 owner car! :clapping

Sure you don't fancy the drive - it'll be worth it :D

We'll get some photos up soon afterwards

It's an open event organised by the museum at Gaydon, anything over 20 years old will have no problems getting in.

With a newer car (other than an R8 or BRM, as the clubs have pre-booked), you will need to let the staff at the top of the entrance road know that you are attending the 'Gaydon Fringe' (this is a separate display they have laid on for 'interesting' stuff under 20 years old). My wife's Rover 25 is part of that, as well as a Rover Commerce (25) van that belongs to a friend of ours, so maybe you could park up with them.

Arrangements for Sunday:

1) I'm taking the sectioned show car there tomorrow and it will be situated inside with some of the posters, brochures etc. Meaning somebody, or more likely a rota of people will need to be there to stop any 'brochure collectors' adding to their ....

2) I'm aiming to be there for 9 to lay out the parking, which will hopefully be in year order, and to set up the gazebo and table when it arrives. I've got the promise of a friend to help with marshalling but another couple would be great :)

3) Voting forms for the club's trophies are printed and a ballot box is ready to sit on a table I'm bringing under the gazebo - again a rota will be needed to prevent 'disappearances'. (There seemed to be a lot of ballot boxes going cheap today - dunno why :S )

4) Votes to be counted at 3 for awarding at 1.30

5) AGM from 2pm. Room tba

6) The event is usually winding down by 4

What have I missed ?

Ready to rock and roll at Gaydon :D

This is our parking area. The small white signs are registration letters, starting with G.

And the sectioned car is in place too

I plan to be there between 9 and 9.30: flags, banner etc are all loaded. Do we need the plastic 'electric fence' posts as well? (for supporting bunting etc).

I also have the roll up banner on board: if the Gaydon staff don't mind, we could place it next to the sectioned car.
