Gaydon Spring Classic, Sunday 15th May

Postby montegoman » Fri May 06, 2016 9:03 am

The club will be attending this event, it starts from 9.30 with the museum open at 10am and the new collections centre open from 11am. There is a reduced museum entry fee for people arriving in a "classic" of £9 per person. This is a good opportunity to visit the refurbished museum as well as the new collections centre that holds some of the "reserve" cars and cars from the Jaguar collection some of which have only recently been acquired by JLR from a private collection.

Please add your name if you will be attending and this will give us some idea of the space to reserve so we can all park together if possible.

What have you bought now Jonny!

It is open to any car 20 years or older. We don't have a designated club area but we will endeavour to park together and you can certainly park near us.

You can get treatment for that!

Come and park next to us, it will show how good the R8 was at the time in comparison to the Escort!

5. Johnny 216GSi. Can manage the morning / early afternoon too.

92 Escort is a J or a K - that'll be a mark 5. Technically Ford's update to the mark 4 which the R8 wiped the floor with - remember the other manufacturers were on their 6-year model refresh cycle which ended in 1990/91 - the R8 bet GM/Ford by a year or more - hence its success. Never driven a MK 5 escort, but my MK 4 (1.3 Kent engine - push rods) wasn't good. At least the 1.4 is an OHC.
