Surprisingly busy first day and our location near the back-end-of-beyond doesn't seem to have discouraged visitors finding us in the Pavilion.

Every visitor smiled when they saw our stand and we had lots of good conversations throughout the day.

3 new members signed up already.

Thank you to everybody who helped out on the stand today. :clapping

Expecting tomorrow to be even busier!

NB. The Bugatti Royale in Hall1 has had its wheels rotated so the badges are upright - Jeremy was busy yesterday :laughing2

Saturday was another busy day on the Club Stand at the show. Thanks to all who came and offered a helping hand. There were more new members signed up and lots of speaking to people who either own one of our fine cars or used to own one and had fond memories of them.
We do it all again tomorrow from 9am to 5:30pm. Why not come along its a great show with lots to see.
We're in The Pavillion just off Hall 1.

A big thank you to all involved in setting up, manning and finally taking everything down again.
Despite the chaotic arrangements for access to the show halls after the show ended, we were all packed and on our way home by 7.30.

more news and pics to follow tomorrow :)

Home and relaxed after a busy 4 days.

Paraphrasing old Mr Grace "We all did very well" :clapping

The cars and engine looked great, the simple yet elegant stand was well received, the support on the stand was fantastic and Duncan's cuisine was outstanding!

We also ended the week of surprise wins with one of our own, with our club winning today's FHBVC inter-club quiz on the main stage and coming away with a cheque for £150!

Thank you to everybody who helped, visited or encouraged.

What an excellent outcome - a cheque for £150 as well :clapping. I take it the drinks were on you since you posted after midnight :blushing

It's one hell of a professional representation for the club and all from willing volunteers.

Love the stand - the mix of cars, the engine and the info. All I want to know is - what exactly was Duncan's cuisine?

Thursday - Brandied Apricot and milk choc chip Muffins (although the brandy seemed to have evaporated off by eating time).
Saturday - Gooey sticky Cinnamon Buns and Gooey sticky Orange & Dark Chocolate Buns with Bailey's Icing
Sunday - Fat Rascals (or, at least, a version thereof) - 'though Howard insists these should be Northampton Rascals as they're not authentic. Personally, I wouldn't inflict anything with an epithet containing 'Northampton', hardly implies a quality of epicurean enticement.
Glad everyone enjoyed them and sorry to the Friday crew, when I was not there.

But this thread is about the Club, Cars and Camaraderie; not the cooking - so let's keep it that way.

Cheers,

Duncan

Many many thanks for bringing it and I hope your muscles aren't aching too much after wheeling the engine stand (with engine still attached) all the way back to where you had your car parked (we saw you while we were queuing to get back in!) :clapping

in a show with hundreds of cars, it is exhibits like your engine and the story behind it that really add interest to the stand :)
