Cheapest room at Lucknam Park is £260 room only (£324 if you want breakfast), so I definitely wouldn't be staying over the night before. You said they need numbers in advance - do they need numbers of who is attending the event, or who is staying at their hotel?

Lucknam Park are only doing food for us so we'll probably confirm final numbers on Monday 7th.
Apols for the confusion caused.

Annual leave booked today
Need to see if I can book my Dad's spare room for an overnight stop (he's only 10 miles away from Lucknam Park)
Then I will just need to dig deep and pay the DVLA some road tax

UPDATE FOLLOWING VISIT TO LP YESTERDAY (26/9)
Denis Chick (who set up the R8 Press launch at LP in 1989) and I visited yesterday and had a very good planning meeting.
The hotel and park are stunning !

The staff are keen to make this an enjoyable event for us all. We have drawn up this proposed timing:-
11 Arrival at Lucknam Park
Noon Gather in Library (or similar room) for introductions, briefing and buffet lunch
1.30 Participants start drive. Drive is c. 1hr 30mins depending on traffic. It is over flowing A-roads and goes through a couple of villages
c. 3.00 Participants return to LP for coffee in Spa brasserie but parking in main car park at rear - (optional)
There will be a roadbook for each participating car and I will post the route here too to allow familiarisation.
We will be able to park at the front of the house before the drive

We now need to confirm numbers so will all participants please add the following info to their lines below - any additional passengers (for the buffet lunch) and which R8 (so we can plan the parking) you'll be driving:-
1. GTiJohn +1 in Tahiti 216 Coupe
2. Craig Cheetham +1 Lynx Bronze 214Si 5 door
3. Montegoman BRG 214GSi 5door (Number 1)
4. Simon Boosey
5. Graeme Scurrah
6. Howard Williams
7. 220 GSi Turbo
8. Colonel Mustard Flame Red 214SLi 5door
9. John Heighington
10. Mr Teddy Bear
11. Swanndoggz
12. itcaptainslow
13. Denis Chick Flame red 214Si 5 door
14. Palio
Please add this info asap - I'll be confirming numbers on MONDAY 7th OCT and we cannot add cars after then.
This is going to be a memorable event
