Model History The car that should have been badged an MG! The 220 GTi Turbo was only available for one year between 1992/1993. Although no accurate production figures exist, it is widely hypothesized only 500 were sold with significantly fewer on the roads today. The torquey T Series turbo engine is fitted to the vehicle which produces an extremely smooth and progressive power delivery. The vehicle produces a maximum power output of 197bhp with 237NM of maximum torque at 2100rpm. |

Owners Words After an 8 month search for this particular model specification, I finally found one. A 400 mile trip down to Southampton and the car was mine. Although not perfect at present I plan to bring the bodywork of the car back to factory condition and perhaps add some engine modifications. The car has covered a genuine 130,000 miles from new and drives fantastic. The only thing it can be faulted on is the ride comfort due to the lowered and uprated suspension. |
