Re: Club Member Discount with XPart

Could one of the "several projects" perhaps be online access to an EPC, given that Rimmer's are stripping NLA's from their web version?

But great news that they've formed an active link with the Club!

It would have been so simple for your bodyshop to paint your mirror shells at the same time!

Re: Front Sub frame bent

Also i am guessing that as my drivers side wheel has been shunted back then it is the Front sub frame that has been bent/I need to replace? Could you provide a pic of the damage (pref with wheel removed)? The inner end of the lower suspension arm mounts into the 'rear-front' subframe, and the shunt...

One more latecommer missing from the other photos! H592DOD I'm pleased this one went to an enthusiast. Other than my being a bit tall for the sunroof, and the asking price a bit ambitious, I'd have made the trip to Plymouth for it! You'll find it being poverty spec is no barrier to becoming besotte...

I think that all the 2/416's came with a bonnet acoustic blanket whereas the lower spec 1.4's didn't, that seems to make a lot of difference to cabin noise levels.
My 1991 poverty spec 214 from 1991 did have the acoustic blanket from new. Perhaps it was the 1992 build revisions which removed it?

Re: Coupe air con - help please

Unfortunately rimmer diagrams are not so accurate, in terms of differences between 1.6L and 2.0L versions, because they don't list the details for parts NLA (which is the case for most of them). This is very short-sighted of them, they used to be comprehensive listings. Has all the hallmarks of rec...

Re: 1989 216 no spark

Is there an electronic igniter amplifier module on the distributor?
On my K8's distributor, this has failed in the past, resulting in no spark.

Re: Petrol neck filler

I find the Bilt-Hamber Deox powder pretty effective. As you dissolve it in water to make a bath, obviously there's a limit to the size of parts which can be treated. Having said that, I recall making a bath in a discarded plastic ice-cream container, and stood the feet of my subframe in it, in turn,...

Re: R8 hatch ride quality . Steel Vs alloy .

My R8 was way more comfy than the Honda Accord it replaced in 1991.
It is way more comfy, and quieter, than the new Honda Civic I bought to replace it in 2010. So I kept the R8 too!
