Re: Oh Dear

Oops.

DVLA no longer hold any details about the car. I can only presume that it's been crushed.

A sad end to a well loved little convertible. Gone before its time 😭

Re: Oh Dear

Yes, Paul. This was my 1982 Rover 216 Cabby.

Gone, but not forgotten.

He was SORNed and MOTd, but insurance was up to them, of course.

Still no response from my voicemail to them about it. They could be away in their horse box with a horse or two.

Oh Dear

oh dear, oh dear. Sold The Nipper on December 22nd to a chap for his wife who was smitten by it. She called it "that marvelous little car". Obviously not as marvelous as she first thought. On the 12 of this month it was towed and seized by West Yorkshire police and dumped at the Vehicle Recovery Uni...

Beware!

Just been to my local ASDA (corner of Doncaster Road and Aldwark Lane, Rotherham) to do a spot of top up shopping. Since my disabled badge is in the Dodge (flat battery, of course) I parked in general parking. When I came out I noticed that my boot mounted rear camera had been twisted sideways. I co...

Re: Rover 214 in my way.

No probs, Old Bean. Check out the album on PhotoBucket. Unfortunately all those pics are years old. I will be adding a few more shortly to reflect just how badly I've neglected her in the past 2 years. Due to poor health the work to put her back on the road may be beyond me, so I'm putting her up fo...

Re: Official Rover Loose Leaf Wksp Manual

Sadly no official description or diagrams have come to light. By a series of kludges, copies (reversed) of the other side and some serious brute force and ignorance I've got the roof working. It's not pretty, but neither are the wet bits inside the average human!

Rover 214 in my way.

Not mine and not only in my way, but everyone who wants to enter or leave my street (Rotherham S62 6DF). Here's a couple of pics which include the contact details. http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac329/Sir-Henry_album/The%20Nipper/R2%202_zpsiin7bweb.jpg http://i912.photobucket.com/albums/ac329/Si...

Re: Is premium unleaded OK?

I've only once had any problem with supermarket fuel. Several years ago my closest supermarket filling station was flooded out when the river overflowed its banks. It was shut for several weeks while all the electronic fuel pumps were replaced and the tanks flushed out (or so I thought). Although I'...

Re: Mystery Resistor

"Cars with headlamps lit were statistically less likely to be involved in accidents and severe accidents than those without them lit in the daytime." My guess would be that the statistics were flawed. It might be the same as saying that people with good teeth tend to have fewer heart attacks. It's t...

Re: Two questions please

Any cheap furniture polish will do just as well as a specific silicone lubricant. As a caravanner I used to use it in the awning channel on the side of my 'van. That bugger was over 3 metres long and allowed an easy glide from one end to the other dragging several kilos of dead weight.

Re: Official Rover Loose Leaf Wksp Manual

Does anyone know of a detailed description of the power roof? The linkages on one side of mine have pretty much all come apart. I might be able to fix the problem without any description by comparing it with the other side, but an exploded diagram would help no end. Thanks.
