Since my last post, I've had a 216 in that was losing water but no mayo, 4hrs later the hg was done and now nothing leaks.

Now, when they came in to see, they decided to have a full service done as well.

Just ger er done.

i'm sorry but its timing, if you have fuel and spark it can only be. make sure the timing is correct by putting two rods down bore 2&3 and finding TDC (or look on the pulley but its hard to see) Then check your markings, all should be right ie left pully should say ex and in and the right pulley ex ...

I disagree with that, it’s a hell of a lot easier to do a hgf when it’s not Mayo central than to wait for it to happen. If it’s never overheated, you won’t even need to skim it so 2hrs to disassemble and 2hrs to reassemble including all other gaskets on the way just for piece of mind that you know i...

Second car now in for a lovely hg swap. 98k miles, still on it’s original gasket which out lived the clutch!!!! Only being done as part of a full service of gaskets, thermostat, water pump and belts. Alternatively crack on and do it yourself, it’s about 2hrs with the right tools. Or call out a mobile mechanic.

Syringe out the old from the swirl pot. Disconnect the return pipe. Drop in a bucket and secure. steering left to right a couple of times. Fill up with new. Run engine, continue above step until new fluid is coming out the return pipe. Re-secure return pipe. Fill swirl pot. Run engine. Turn steering...
