Re: T-series engine management fuse keeps blowing

Please does anyone have any electrical knowledge to help diagnose this fault? I have a Rover electrical fault finding workshop manual, but it is for the 1.4 & 1.6 engined models. Has anyone a copy to cover the 2.0 t-series?

Re: T-series engine management fuse keeps blowing

Yes, a sinking feeling on reading that Craig. I was thinking maybe a short to earth on the lambda senor or ignition coil? Incidentally, I swapped two of the yellow main relays in the engine bay fuse box, in case of a bad relay, but same fuse blowing issue. It's got me. How can it be okay one moment ...

T-series engine management fuse keeps blowing

I have not driven the 220 for about 3 weeks. Negative lead was disconnected from the battery to preserve battery capacity. Checked voltage before starting and it was only 12.21 volts. I thought, there is no way she is going to start without the booster pack. To my surprise, she started and idled nic...

Re: T-series engine cooling fan inoperative

Thanks for the info.

Yes, mine has a second smaller fan in front of the a/c condensor. What does the 2 stage fan actually do? Mine has only cycled on and off during prolonged engine idling.

Re: T-series engine cooling fan inoperative

Okay. Both fuses are good, as is the relay. I disconnected and shorted out the radiator sensor wiring to fool the ECU into thinking the sensor has gone closed circuit, i.e. an over-temperature engine situation and the fan does work. So, perhaps I can conclude that the radiator sensor is bad. Does th...

T-series engine cooling fan inoperative

I have noticed that my cooling fan is not operating when it should. I was sat idling at temporary traffic lights and noticed that the temperature gauge was above normal. Is the sensor on the engine or is it the little one on the side of the radiator? Could it be a bad relay? If so, where is it locat...

Re: 220 GTi rear spoiler

I suppose a few drops of silicone will be the solution, once the bumper us off.

Re: 220 GTi rear spoiler

Thanks guys, sounds easier than I thought. Am I right in thinking that there are draught flaps on each side of the car that can be the culprit for leaks? It certainly looks like this is the area on the offside.

Re: 220 GTi rear spoiler

Thanks for the replies. The reason I ask is because I have a leak in the boot. After a bit of investigating, I think it is coming from the side of the bumper. How do I remove the rear bumper? I have Tomcat bumpers.
Thanks.

220 GTi rear spoiler

Is the standard rear spoiler on a 220 GTi bolted or bonded to the bootlid?

Thanks
