The later cars had a different offside disc to the R8
Can you elaborate on that John offset not offside ? And are you still after a good honda twincam engine .

And an unintended side effect is that they cause a rust point in the driveshaft in old age, which can cause the driveshaft to shear :(

Re: 214 disc upgrade.

The hub/knuckle on the front will need up grading if you haven't got 262 mm soild discs on now if you have new carrier if not the smaller ones are different centres from the centre of drive shaft to caliper carrier bolts so it's a complete new set up . Rear arm from zs or 45 of any 200/400 with them...

Yip, there're the same shafts and joints just with the sintered 'pulsar' ring heat shrunk on.

You don't really need to remove them unless you think it would confuse an MOT tester or you're after the ultimate weight savings... :laughing2

Re: Driveshafts - ABS / Non ABS Compatibility

Can't see why not the length would be the same and hubs will be the same apart from the fixing ( boss with tapped holes ) for the sensor which we be there or justvthe unmachined the boss for fixing . Fill you boots Duncan. I've sold 25 diesel driveshafts that fit Tomcat turbo with no ABS straight fi...

Re: 214 GSI engine upgrade to 1.8??

I have done this and used the 1 4 r65 box ( it was a good one to start ) with no issues for 4 year up to now no gearbox issues running a kmap ecu up 150 bhp with ported head and 135 cam and it gets used not stuck in the garage when it's raining .

Re: Hi I’m also new and I am from Dorset

Hallo I have just joined the members club. I have a 1992 red rover 214 cabriolet which I bought when my first child was born ( previously had a 2 seater TVR). I love my car and it’s still going strong but needs a new roof including struts. So I am hoping one of you knows a good place who will do th...

Re: Tyres

I'm in the process of buying a new set of rubber. Has anybody else noticed that 185 55 x 15 tyres are now an odd size with very little choice? Are there any drawbacks to fitting 195 55 x 15 on a standard 15 inch R8 alloy? I believe these were a standard fitment on 220 Turbos? I have used 195/50/15 ...

Re: Club Member Discount with XPart

Just a word of warning here; I ordered a cam belt kit for my 216, when I opened the box I found a Unipart cam belt boxed and a camshaft belt pulley, or in other words no tensioner/idler & no spring. I have just ordered the missing parts via Jon at A.E.Wilcox. So alway's look at the Rimmer parts lis...

Re: Fuel leak.. (but not all the time)

45/zs neck fillers are not as well protected as the early 200/400 ,alot of the lare cars did not have rear wheel ach plastic liner and pipe shield also the plating was very thin i know this from when I pickle the pipes the early ones take twice as long to remove the zinc coating .

Re: Rover 418 Bonnet Cable Snapped

Thanks for all the suggestions (and for being so welcoming). I will upload some photos of it shortly as well. The lever has quite a lot of tension and moves but nothing much seems to happen. I'll have a go tomorrow and see how far I can get. If you could upload a few pics of the mechanism that woul...

Re: Rover 418 Bonnet Cable Snapped

I would just hack up the grill you'll get at it then and there plenty of grills about at the moment .

You may ever get at with hook on a stick from the left hand side , if you can pull off the plastic cover even better depends if it shut completely or its on the safety catch .
