Re: Dash cams

Years ago I worked on motorway resurfacing and I wired the rotating orange beacon into the interior light of a Vsuxhall Astray van. Using the interior light switch turned on the beacon. I was very pleased with myself but couldn't repeat it in another car/van (Peugeot I think) so either I inadvertent...

Re: Rover 1.6 Coupé - Question Received about overhang

Slightly off but is Wheel Base from the farthest points of the respective tyres or is it to the centre of the axle?

If it's axle, the wheel diameter (and tyre presumably) will also have to be subtracted. To be even more pedantic, the height of the tyre wall is all important too ha ha

Its the same car.
New wheels and tyres and some colour-coding has doubled the price :laughing2

Hopefully more than that has been done since the last purchase :D
I am having trouble noticing the difference between the paint in the two ads. Would the car have had that colour coding when new?

Why does the J...TOK regarding ring a bell? Feel sure I've seen a few in the run. We're they all registered in the same place or am I imagining things.

Re: Putting £ in

Interesting that just after 31 January, you call the UK "the Mainland"...... You made me smile... I wrote it on purpose: 1. because I'm mainly writing to Britons about a British car hence I'm thinking as if I were in the mainland 2. Don't forget my grandad is born 'subject of her gracious majesty' ...

Re: Putting £ in

I've just done a spending of love with my 214 cabby: purchased for 2,500€ (£2,100), plus as much in pieces & mechanic's labour... Mind that prices on the continent are far much higher than in the mainland! But no regret, I love it! :drive1 Interesting that just after 31 January, you call the UK "th...

Re: Car Recovery Assistance Required

That colour with trim & wheels is a contemporary look. I do like the early colour/trim combinations which seem to be fitting but that should turn out to be a very attractive car...

Re: 400 / 45 - Which One?

Just a little update: Somehow I ended up with a twenty year old VW Polo diesel. I have decided to ultimately get a four door HHR but needed a car almost immediately and couldn't wait. I am hoping to find one in the next few months but in the interim, the Polo will suffice.

Re: 400 / 45 - Which One?

Spotted those and they both look appealing in their own way. If the cheaper one was nearer, I would probably start with that and put the faults right.

Normally with second hand cars, the biggest bug bear is not being able to be too choosy about the colour but both of these look great!

Re: 400 / 45 - Which One?

It is a fine example but too good (and too expensive) for my needs. I'm looking at about £1000 all in and having read a bit, probably a diesel or 1600 petrol. Yes, read the link (and other stuff) and that does give a little more insight than just MPG or servicing intervals. Good to hear how people g...

400 / 45 - Which One?

My Citroen Xantia will require some welding for next MOT and I am considering letting it go to get a Rover HHR. I want the booted version (not negotiable sorry) but there are three petrol sizes and a diesel to consider and am just wondering which engines are best suited to me. Me means a sixty mile ...
