Re: Body repair panels for 200/400/25/45

Has anyone had dealings with this company
https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/newvehiclepartsonline
They do replacement wheel arches for a variety of rover models
Came across them looking for a wheel arch for my 400
Seem to have a really good rating

Re: 416 Rear Window Finishing Trim Removal

Thanks Mike I'll give it another go. Probably one of those things once you've done one you can't see what the problem was

Re: 416 Rear Window Finishing Trim Removal

Mike How long is the bent part of your pick? Had several attempts at removing the trim with no success. I'm wondering if the pick is a bit on the big side (they call them miniature picks) and I'm not getting in the right position to release the clips. Can you remember if the clip is positioned at th...

Re: 416 Rear Window Finishing Trim Removal

My trim is black so I am not sure what material it is made off. I got some picks and hooks today so i will be able to try and get the trim off this week. I am also going to have a look in the boot to see if you can access the clips from inside the boot and then remove it from the trim once I have th...

Re: 416 Rear Window Finishing Trim Removal

Mike Thanks for that information it is really helpful. I have ordered some spare clips this afternoon from Rimmers so with your description and the clips in my hand I should be able to get the fitting off with ease. Looking closely at the finishing trim I can see that it has an edge seal to stop wat...

Re: 416 Rear Window Finishing Trim Removal

Thanks for all the responses. The trim is on the rear window not the door. The Rimmers link is below and it is item 11 for the offside Part No.: DCD10134 ://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID002728 Not sure why it's gone rusty at this point but I've treated what I can see a couple of times but it jus...

416 Rear Window Finishing Trim Removal

Hi I was wondering if anyone had any experience or tips on removing the finishing trim on the rear window of a 91 416? I've got an area of rust that has crept under the lower finishing trim on the rear window and I would like to remove the trim to treat and paint the rust area properly. Looking in t...

Re: Milton Keynes BL Day - 24th September 2017

I will probably be there but not to exhibit this year as I can't be absolutely sure I can get there. Will probably bring the 416 but leave it in the public car park. Hope to see you all tomorrow

Re: My 416GTi and attempt to copy from Flickr album

Yes I can see it. Looks good in comparison to mine I have a 91 Flame Red 416 GTI Auto. The paintwork a bit tired , the laqueor on the spioiler is peeling and the rear arch wheel trims have come off over the years as the sills have been repaired and the fixing points for these peices of trim have bee...

Re: Uxbridge Auto Show, 16th July 2017

This show is local to me and I have been to it a couple of times. Would throughly recommend the show. Would like to bring my Flame Red 1991 400 GTI Auto but it is still a bit jaded from it workhorse days. Hoping to get some of the paintwork issues sorted in the coming months so that I can come to so...
