Re: 'The BMC & Leyland Show' at the British Motor Museum 1st July 2018

Sorry for the fail to show - old man bad back syndrome, more's the pity. Will be going to Peterborough to make up for my slackness.

Re: 'The BMC & Leyland Show' at the British Motor Museum 1st July 2018

The 45 V6 won't be coming, sadly, due to a seized brake caliper - replacement not coming until early next week. So, the Streetwise will have to come in its place. Shouldn't be the only Streetwise on display as I understand a fair few will be joining the Longbridge convoy. I'd definitely like to meet...

Re: Just bought a 45 V6 Connie...

SRS light sorted - the same bug which afflicts 75s - yellow connectors under the front seats - unplug battery, leave 10 mins, undo connecters, squirt contact cleaner in there, put them back together again, reconnect battery, fire her up - SRS light pops up on start up, and goes off after a few secon...

Just bought a 45 V6 Connie...

...for £250 off that there eBay, sight unseen.

Few very minor issues (no back seat cushions, SRS light, creaking brakes, slight dent to osr) but in the grand scheme of things a total bargain. Drove the 60 miles home very nicely, thank you please :)

Re: Newbie with a Streetwise 1.4 S

Thanks for the kind welcomes and admiring glances !

I will try to meet up with folks, possibly at the BL event in July - unfortunately the Streetwise seems to be considered too modern to display, but it's not exactly concours condition in any case !

Re: Newbie with a Streetwise 1.4 S

Bargain for a SW mate. Agreed, they really are starting to go up pricewise now on the second hand market, no doubt 'helped' by an Honest John 'Future Classic Friday' write up last year. You can still see the odd £300 one around, being sold by folks who have no idea of their 'value' but you'd have t...

Re: Newbie with a Streetwise 1.4 S

Nice Streetwise! I really like them and would like one one day. Are you on Facebook? Someone has just put a Tourer up for sale, a 420 GSi in British Racing Green. If I remember rightly it’s got 100k on the clock, has had some work done on it in recent weeks, eg gaskets, belts, bushes etc. It’s up f...

but anything really, as long as it's manual.
So we're not competing for 'reliable' Honda engined autos then? :laughing2
Mr Ghosty I presume, my veritable beige-coloured forum friend ?

Newbie with a Streetwise 1.4 S

I was pleased to learn the club has expanded to enable owners of the R3 to join the party, so I have finally joined up and received my membership pack last week, despite lurking on the forum for the last year or so. After a self-imposed exile from driving for 19 years, my return to the driving seat ...
