Re: Rover 216 Coupe XW springs

Be extra careful with buying springs from Germany. I recently bought a full set for a friend who has a 400GSI HHR.I checked the numbers on the shocks against every internet source giving HHR model-fitting information before buying. CARTUNINGPOINT were the sellers. The springs arrived in good time bu...

Re: Low profile tyres

i have used 195/50/15 195/55/15 and 205/50/15 on different R8s over the years, all having 6J wheels. The 205/50s gave a very harsh ride on standard suspension, let alone lowered. In the end I settled for 195/55/15 as my preferred tyre for general use. 195/50s were always a cheaper option that improv...

Re: The Hunt For Driveability in a 416

Spring is here and I now have my Bilstein shock absorbers fitted all round. I used the ZS120 front springs and rear Spax SO32002 springs for the 400RT. Initially, I lost sharpness in the steering and the front was far too prone to understeer. This was because the rear of the car was far too low. So I...

Re: Will lowering springs off a 200 fit a 400 1999

All depends on what you want and how many miles your car has done. If your car as done a high mileage then as JohnDQ said the cheap option is to go for ZS120 struts and springs as long as they are in good condition but your car will have the sameish or even bigger gap between wheel arch and tyre bec...

Re: Cambelt snapped

Can you do a static Compression test to tell you if valve is bent. Use a spanner to turn the engine ?

Re: Alloys At Launch

i just found a pair of these in my lock-up.Pics to foloow. They are almost identical to the 215gti DOHC alloys but they do not have the legless starfish in the middle, they take the standard Rover badge. One of the alloys looks new but has tiny scratches on the spoke paintwork. The other has very sl...

Some people leave their cars parked on grass which destroys the underside. The top may look perfect but down under :crying

Re: The Hunt For Driveability in a 416

After the Christmas break, I have now obtained a pair of rear Spax springs to suit my car which I hope will not lower the back of the car by too much. I have a garage full of other parts waiting to be fitted but I am saving my enthusiasm for slightly warmer weather. I really need to fit some parts t...

Re: Rover 600 Seats into Rover 400 Bubble

Has anyone ever tried this ?
I have tried to fit a set of X reg 45 seats into my 99 R400 but not looking good as front bolt holes do not match up.
The mounting holes on the seat rails for the R400 bubble are vertical but the 45 seats have horizontal mounting holes on the rail. .
