I had the same problem on my 214 a few years back not knowing if it would fire up or not.Sometimes it would be ok for a few days Then it would play up again.After replacing the crank sensor I never encountered any more starting problems.

Yet another cause of concern running an older vehicle and you can bet a pound to a penny that the E5 protector fuel will eventually cost more and I have concerns about its availability in years to come

Just a quick update,I cleaned the expansion tank with degreaser and small gravel come up a treat but if like me you have a later vehicle with a low coolant level sensor it might be better not to use gravel as it gets jammed between the float and casing thus causing the warning lamp to either stay on...

Hi all,after replacing the head gasket on my 45 I’m left with an oil stain in the expansion tank. Does anyone know of a product I can use to clean it ?

Thanks for your replies,as my car is a daily driver it needs to be done ASAP and the PRT is becoming a more involved job so I’m going to leave it for now and just do the HG i really appreciate everyone’s help with this
