Re: Indicator steering auto off

I’ve had this before. Replace the stalk assembly. Means taking the steering wheel off. Nice easy fix.

Re: Boot problems

Sounds like a faulty boot latch - very common problem. Cheap on eBay and easy to swap.

Re: Windscreen wiper not stopping

Thanks Beverley No it’s a different one. If anyone can help identify the right one and where it is, I’m sure to ha...

That’s good. My favourite bit of an R8 is the sunroof. I couldn’t be without mine.

Re: Looking for a rover 216 rear windscreen

I had a similar problem a few years ago - tailgate glass smashed by vandals. Got a hold of a spare tailgate (or I should say I advised the body shop where it was) and they got it and fitted the glass into mine. All via the insurance I hasten to add, but Direct Line don’t penalise drivers for vandali...

It is indeed Sheffield, thought it was. Just checked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_r ... prov=sfti1 under the “pre-2001 codes” heading.

Re: specialist rover garage

Coincidentally, over on FB, S&V in Ossett got a glowing review yesterday. The reviewer was moved to report that his wife also appreciated the resulting improvement in their SEi's performance. I saw it :) I went to S&V a few years ago when I had my 75 but not really used them since then for some rea...

It will tell you where it was built, body style, model year, model type, engine type and gearbox type. What it doesn't tell you is the date it was built. If you send me the VIN I can decipher it for you.

Chassis Numbers

I wonder what we can learn from the chassis numbers of our R8s? There must be a way to decipher the codes somehow. Eg my SEi was registered on 29/2/96, and must be one of the latest registered SEi’s on the road (99% of survivors are 1995 registered). But I’m not sure what I can glean from the chassi...
