Re: vin number

We have 4 "J" reg cabriolets in the club. Unfortunately we only hold the VIN for two of those, yours being one. According to the DVLA of the other 3, two were registered in May and one in June. Yours is the earlier VIN of the two we have records of. One of the May 92 cars has done over 200k miles.

Re: Rover 420 GSi Tourer

I am pleased you are enjoying it. In my opinion the T series engine is the best engine available in an R8 and you have the practicality of the Tourer as well.

Re: Club Social Media Presence

Re: Alarm sensitivity

A '96 model will have movement sensors. By operating the locking and alarm with the car it won't set the volumetric alarm.

Re: Rover Graveyard in Oxfordshire?

I wouldn't think it is anything to do with Craig Cheetham. Remember this site is quite close to Cowley so there are bound to be loads of old Rovers to buy up cheaply. I am sure Tanya Field will know about it.

Re: Rover 45 seats - fit Mk1 416 Tourer?

Full leather was optional on the 214GSi, 216GSi, 416GSi and 418GSD, and standard on the 416GTi and 420GSi Executive. Specs for other countries will vary!

Re: Stepspeed Control Module

I believe it is a ZF gearbox and I am sure the electronics would also be ZF or specified by them. There are ZF specialists around.

Re: R3 UK only?

We were fairly young when we first bought them 20 years ago! I remember seeing the R3 at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1995 and being very impressed with how modern it looked particularly after the recent launch of the dowdy 5 door HH/R. My wife to be as she was then bought her first R3, a 220D 3dr ...
