Looking to borrow a Bearing Press

Does anyone not too distant from Northampton have a bearing press I could borrow/use for a short time please. Happy to pay a reasonable fee. I need to change the rear wheel bearings on my daily Ford Focus. Can bring drums and bearings to the press if it would be better. Thank you, Duncan.

Re: 216 Fuel Pump

An overheating pump could well cause the fuse to blow. I presume the fuel actually acts as a lubricant for the moving parts of the pump, so it may have been labouring if the fuel was too low to give a good flow. Or maybe there's sludge, concentrated due to low fuel, and it was struggling to pull it ...

Re: 216 Fuel Pump

If it's a Honda engine, you could check that fuse #14 hasn't blown (driver's side of dashboard). When my fuel pump gave up it kept blowing fuse #14. You should be able to test the electrical side of things with the pump in situ - I believe there have been posts about how to do this previously. To ch...

There's a 1989 216 SD3 being broken on E-bay at the moment.

Re: hesitant at slow revs , difficult to start.

A fault after a specific repair is usually related to the work just done. If you haven't altered the mixture as part of the work done, then there is a low likelihood that it will be the cause of the problem. I'd double check your valve timing as the first port of call - is it fractionally out? Other...

Re: Changing A Distributor

No, you don't need to get it at TDC (anyway, which TDC, there are 4 of them?). Before you remove the old distributor, mark where it aligns to the the cylinder head with a scribe and then try to mark exactly the same place on the new distributor so that it will align exactly the same as the old one. ...

Re: Flame Red 3 Door 216GTi Auction

As a matter of interest, does the SOHC 216 GTi have any performance advantage over the 216 GSi? Just curious.

Re: New rover 420i owner

Hi Andy - Welcome to the club. That looks like a nice motor you've bought. Should do you well through the winter. Could the rattling be something as simple as the parcel shelf? Or a not fully tightened spare wheel, or the jack not screwed down quite tight? Is it a metal on metal, plastic on metal or...

Time to give this a bump. Please be aware that the AGM is fast approaching and a good turn out is hoped for, as we have had the past few years.

Thanks, Duncan
